This is ThreeA's first offering from their Lost Planet series, the 1/6th Mercenary from Lost planet 2. This toy blog post is specially brought to you by Ted Menten, who has offered to review the ThreeA Mercenary figure since I didn't pre-order it.
I confess that I am not a gamer and was unfamiliar with "Lost Planet" but I am a bit of a Steampunk fan and the preview images had a strong Steampunk feel to them. So I crossed my fingers and hoped the figure would be at least as good as the preview photos.
To my great delight, this figure is beyond my expectations. The attention to detail is terrific. Even the front and back panels are wired to allow them to have movement as if blown by the wind. Packaging is a black box with a clear plastic inner tray to hold the figure.

Articulation is good as is his balance despite the heavy back unit. No stand was needed to photograph the figure. This figure has quickly become one of my favorites.
ThreeA Capcom Lost Planet 2 Mercenary 12-inch fully articulated figure comes with fabric outfit, belt, pouch, gauntlet, boot cover, hand gun holder, mask, body armor (consisting of 10 parts), boots, machine gun, hand gun, darts x 7 pieces, 4 pairs of hands (relaxed, fist, gun holding, pointing)
Here are two close-up shots of the head with and without the breathing mask.
Ted has added two images of the figure in settings from the story -- one winter and one summer. Click on the pictures for a bigger and better view :)
TED MENTEN BIO: Some older collectors may remember Ted from his days as an online reporter for RealAmericanHero.com. His live postings on 9/11 were some of the first to hit the Internet and quickly went global. He and his fellow reporter, Tom Cooper, posted live for several days following the attack.
THANKS again Ted for the great review and pictures :)
