This license is going to hurt. It'll be smart to skip ALL the Avengers and go straight to the Villains.
How come these figures are coming out so bare bones? few accessories
$374 U.S?!! Hot Toys are ripping us off more and more with each release. My first IM figure was under $200, I now have over 20, each more expensive than the last. I should be excited about Hulkbuster but I'm starting to dread it...
Yup! I'm put off by Hot Toys because of their ridiculously HIGH and RISING prices :( It's actually killing my interest in the hobby, especially their products!
Agreed, I thought it was just Hot Toys but the ThreeA/Zero stuff is getting ridiculous too, what's worse is that they don't even offer payment plans for their exclusive editions. I've had to miss out on all the exclusives of Robocop and probably Matrix too because I don't have the $500+ AU to pay upfront. It's really screwing over us hardcore collectors. :.::
i agree, toys are getting more expensives, but mainly due to the license toys maker are paying to made them. But one thing i am angry with is the quality. Honestly speaking, we have that 'choice' to whether part our $$$ for such toys, (depends on our wallet ^_^) and if that figures you love. I learnt the hard way, stop paying full price for pre-order. to share, i am lucky we have a local(Singapore) toy shop TFH who are willing to take our pre-order without making us pay full price. I am really greatful to them i have never stop buying from them. To manage my $$$, i place my order with TFH, and start saving for that toy (cause you got almost 18months to save for that). So end of the day, the 'power' in our hands to decide......and this will definitely impact the toys maker soon. :)
@Jason. Agreed. In Australia I don't have that option, at least with the HT stuff I can place a preorder through Sideshow for exclusives, ThreeA/Zero don't have that option. All or nothing. :.::
I dun understand the point of preorder anymore, when the physical goods came, the prices dropped cheaper than preorder, one good example is the centurion, heartbreaker and igor, they also announced 1 to 7 diecast, I doubt they will make it coz it really has overkilled the franchise, we will just have to shop smarter
It's clear to me that the 1/6th hobby is a diminishing returns product. Pay top dollar for fewer accessories & fancier packaging.
Ain't that the sad truth :(
