What was Obi-Wan Kenobi’s life like after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith? Sideshow’s latest announcement dives into that question in our brand new Star Wars™ Mythos Obi-Wan Kenobi Sixth Scale Figure!
After the prequel trilogy we know Obi-Wan to have led a hermit’s life on Tatooine. During this period our assumption is that his time wasn’t entirely spent living in a lonely hut, but instead as a desert nomad, exercising mental strength and physical fortitude.
Sideshow Collectibles gives us a sneak peek at their upcoming 1/6th scale Obi-Wan Kenobi Mythos 12-inch collectible figure based on Obi-Wan Kenobi’s life as a nomad, wandering the desert landscape of Tatooine. Ben carries a unique collection of mementos, the weight of the memories they contain as heavy as the pack itself. The adornments and survival gear on Kenobi’s backpack almost serve as a time capsule to speak the story of his travels; among his collection are Tusken Raider gaffi sticks that suggest maybe he has had an ongoing feud with the desert tribes, a mantle of armor that he wore during the Clone Wars, and of course, Anakin’s lightsaber.

Obi-Wan comes with a tailored fabric costume featuring his Jedi tunic with tabards, pants, and sash, his Jedi belt, a sleeveless robe, and a nomad pack that he carries with him across the wastes of Tatooine. The figure comes with 3 sets of hands including force hands, fists, and grip hands, and an additional right trigger hand for a variety of action poses.
Other accessories include Obi-Wan’s lightsaber with a removable hilt, as well as Qui-Gonn Jinn and Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber hilts, a modified Tusken rifle and 2 gaffi sticks, and technology necessary for survival such as a portable moisture vaporator, a grappling hook, a droid caller, and macrobinoculars. Obi-Wan also has goggles and Clone Wars armor as remnants of his noble past.
This upcoming release of 1/6th scale Obi-Wan Kenobi Mythos 12-inch collectible figure is no doubt inspired by the Sideshow Collectibles Ben Kenobi Desert Nomad Mythos Statue (see the preview pics HERE). The statue came with two head sculpt options: Alec Guiness and Ewan McGregor portraits for custom display. It seems Sideshow is going with the young Alec Guiness head sculpt here. I would have preferred the Ewan McGregor version.
