Firefly was once a ninja in the Koga Ninja Clan before he became a COBRA Saboteur. Having reviewed the Sideshow Collectibles 1:6 scale COBRA FIREFLY 12-inch action figure from their "G.I. Joe - A real American hero" line recently, I thought this Crazy Owners Camouflage Ninja figure was a nice addition and would make a good companion to Sideshow's Firefly. It could be Firefly's beginning before he became a COBRA operative and enemy of G.I. Joe.
This Crazy Owners 1:6 scale 12-inch Camouflage Ninja figure is apparently limited to 200 pieces worldwide. The regular standard version is the Martial Ninja and comes in basic black (see the preview pictures HERE). I got this figure solely because he wasn't black, brown or white - he's a camouflaged ninja in grey tones and something I felt was quite different from the usual offerings of ninja!
The box packaging is rather nice and comes with magnetic side flaps
There is a rather lengthy write-up about Ninja on the inside of the box cover: "A ninja or shinobi (忍者 or 忍び) was a covert agent or mercenary of feudal Japan specializing in unorthodox arts of war. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, as well as open combat in certain situations. The ninja, using covert methods of waging war, were contrasted with the samurai, who had strict rules about honor and combat."
The entire text and the drawing of a archetypical ninja can all be found on wikipedia.
Crazy Owners 1/6 Camouflage Ninja (Limited Edition) comes with three Kunai (苦無) - a Japanese tool possibly derived from the masonry trowel. Two variations are the short kunai (少苦無, shō-kunai) and the big kunai (大苦無, dai-kunai). It is commonly associated with the ninja, who used it to gouge holes in walls.
Also has three Shuriken (Japanese 手裏剣; literally: "sword hidden in the hand") - a traditional Japanese concealed weapon that was generally used for throwing, and sometimes stabbing or slashing. Shuriken are commonly known in the West as "fighting stars", though they took many different shapes and designs during the time they were used.
And a pair of Suntetsu (寸鉄) - a Japanese concealed weapon. A Suntetsu is a metal rod/spike about 6 inches in length with a ring attached to it. The middle finger is inserted into the ring and the Suntetsu rests in the hand by various grips. Suntetsu are small, easy to conceal and relatively simple to learn how to use. Suntetsu are used for stabbing, poking, pinching, striking, smashing, scraping and throwing. You can use a single Suntetsu or a pair.
No ninja is complete without his Ninjato (忍者刀, ninjatō), also known as ninjaken (忍者剣) or shinobigatana (忍刀). It is the most common name for the Japanese sword that the ninja carried. It is often depicted as being a short sword, often portrayed as having a straight blade with a square tsuba.
Also included is the Nine-section whip. The chain whip is a weapon used in some Asian martial arts, including Chinese martial arts, in addition to modern and traditional wushu. It is generally a weapon of Chinese origin so I'm not sure how it got into the hands of a ninja.
All the weapons are made of metal which gives it a nice feel and weight.
And here's the Crazy Owners 12-inch Camouflage Ninja action figure wearing the Grey camouflage ninja uniform / outfit. He also has on a black netting vest.

What I liked about Crazy Owners Ninja figure are these forearm armor he has on. They are formed out of four metal plates connected together by metal rings so as to give extra protection for the arms.
The same armor can be found on the legs as well, used as shin armor like how modern footballers wear their shin guards to protect their shins. Also check out the Spilt Toe Ninja Tabi footwear.
The ninja headgear consists of two parts: a bandana to be worn over his mouth to conceal his identity and to keep dust out when he performs his disappearing trick PLUS the hood with string tie for wearing over the head. Crazy Owners 1:6 Camouflage Ninja also comes with six extra hands (three pairs) for more poseabilities.
Here's a picture of the fully dressed Crazy Owners Camouflage Ninja holding two shurikens with the specially customized hand.
And here he is holding a Kunai. Different hands for different purposes and poses. He also has the nine-section whip wrapped around his body for easy access and for whenever he needs to use it.

Headsculpt could have been improved. Should include more gear. Outfit seems too bulky and hard. The hood is nice.
The ninja looks cool when his lower face is covered :)
ninja always looks nicer with their faces covered so the headsculpt didn't really bother me. I liked that the outfit is grey camouflage rather than the standard regular black.
