Hot Toys The Dark Knight 1/6 scale Batmobile Collectible aka The Tumbler Preview

This is it! Hot Toys MMS69 (Movie Masterpiece Series) The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible. The Batmobile depicted in the Christopher Nolan directed films "Batman Begins (2005)" and "The Dark Knight (2008)" owes more to the tank-like vehicle from Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and has a much more 'workhorse' appearance than the sleek automobiles seen in previous incarnations. The vehicle does not have a front axle, a design that was influenced by the spinners featured in Ridley Scott's Blade Runner.

In the 2005 movie, Bruce Wayne modifies a prototype military vehicle called "the Tumbler" that was designed by Lucius Fox as a bridging vehicle for the military. It includes features like weaponry, and the ability to boost into a rampless jump. In the Nolan films the vehicle is never referred to as the "Batmobile".

In view of the popularity of the Batmobile collectible, Hot Toys is pleased to relaunch the Batmobile Collectible featuring the likeness and details of the Batmobile from The Dark Knight movie.

The 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible specially features: Authentically detailed 1/6th scale model car, Perfect scale to Hot Toys 1/6th scale Batman (the original costume) 12-inch Collectible Figure, Headlights light-up function, Cockpit / roof opening panel, Slides up and down which allow the access of 1/6th scale Batman, Movable braking flaps

*Battery not included for collectible, 3A batteries (a total of 3 pieces) are required.

Release date: Q2, 2012

Just a note: In the upcoming Batman film by Christopher Nolan "The Dark Knight Rises", there's also the desert camouflage version. These vehicles are reported to be used by Bane and his gang. So will Hot Toys release a variant? We'll just have to wait and see.

You can pre-order this NOW at BBTS (BigBadToyStore). Just tell them TOY HAVEN sent you :)

Great! Normally there is a non-refundable deposit for high dollar amount figure such as this one, but they didn't add it to this one at least not yet. They know that this one will sell out for sure!

I wonder what other re-issues is Hot Toys is planning to shell out to the customers who've missed their earlier collections. I was meaning to ask you if your place is open like a museum since it seems to certainly have I presume all the 1/6 scale figures you've reviewed on your blog which I may add is an invaluable source of reference to me if I ever need the latest news and reviews. BRAVO!

Word on the grapevine is that there'll also be a Hot Toys Wolverine version 2.0 figure in 2012. I'm pretty much a private toy collector and although my place looks like a toy museum, it's still a very exclusive BY INVITATION only museum ;p The figures I review are figures from my own collection. The figures I preview are pictures released by the 1/6 manufacturers which I share with all fellow enthusiasts and aficionados . Thanks for visiting and leaving comments; it's very encouraging CHEERS!
