continued from earlier post...
Following my part 1 review of the Captain Action Marvel Comics 1/6 scale Captain America Costume Set by Round 2 Corp. which featured prominently on the triangular shield and the Golden Age era Captain America costume, I decided that Cap has got to have his round shield as well so here it is :)
The Round 2 Corp Captain Action 1/6 scale costume set for Captain America came with a Cloth / fabric Captain America costume with emblem, Captain America mask, Steve Rogers mask, open gloved hands, fist gloved hands, boots, round shield with straps, triangular shield with straps, optional long straps for use with wither shield, newspaper and Hawkeye boots (a bonus item for their build-a-figure concept). I couldn't bear to use the Steve Rogers mask and Captain America mask because they are just too cartoony so I decided to put the Captain America costume on a Hot Toys Regular TrueType body with Hot Toys' 1/6 scale Chris Evans head sculpt that came with the Hot Toys The Avengers: 1/6 Captain America 12-inch Limited Edition Collectible Figure - You can check out the pictures HERE :)
Since signing on to play the role of Marvel Studios Captain America on the big screen, Chris Evans and Steve Rogers / Captain America are now pretty much one and the same person. I don't think you can see him in any other way now, just as you cannot imagine Daniel Craig not being James Bond. Even though Chris Evans has also played the superhero role as Johnny Storm / Human Torch in "Fantastic Four (2005)" and "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)", it seems like this Captain America role will stick with him for a very long time, what with "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" coming out in 2014.
I liked that Marvel tried to show how unrealistic the comics version of the Captain America costume would look like in real life by having Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) donning the classic Golden Age costume when he was asked to promote war bonds after Dr. Abraham Erskine (Stanley Tucci) was killed / assassinated before he could duplicate the formula for more Super Soldiers to form an army.
That said, it's still nice to see Chris Evans in the classic comic book Captain America costume because that's the Cap I grew up with and remember, before every major character in the Marvel Comics got made into a film. DC has got a lot of catching up to do. The only DC character I am most eager to see on the big screen is Wonder Woman :)
The Captain Action 1/6 scale Captain America Costume Set is actually quite well done and made / stitched and other than the masks, I'm quite pleased with the set. Sure it's not the same standard as Hot Toys version which is the movie version but this Round 2 Captain America costume set only cost peanuts compared to Hot Toys version which cost an arm and a leg. Still, I gotta have both :)
Now all I have to do is figure out a way to get the 1/6 scale Captain Action Captain America mask on the 12-inch Chris Evans (Steve Rogers) figure.

Here's a nice picture of Captain America with his round shield
The look of pure determination on Steve Rogers' (Chris Evans) face - the "never-say-die" look
With the longer straps provided in this Round 2 Corp Captain Action 1/6 scale Captain America costume set, you can make Cap carry the shield on his back as well.

Like the sculpt Alex, but have to admit bro the suit just doesn't suit right.on the that true type does.it. Just look at the stomach area. Though might see.if I can source that shield lol...
Know what? If you switch out the boots, hands, and belt for something alittle more "stylish" this could be really tight.
I'd also throw in a True Type Muscular body for beef!
