Art Figures has released official pictures of their upcoming 1:6 scale version of Judge Anderson as seen in the 2012 film "DREDD" and having already seen the VTS Toys version (preview pictures posted on my toy blog HERE), I have to say, I'm afraid they fell short on this one. Art Figures did a bang-up job on their AF-015 1/6th scale Heavy Armoured Special Cop "DREDD" 12-inch figure - check out the action figure review posts HERE and HERE - but it seems they have dropped the ball on their follow-up figure. Art Figures AF-020 1:6 Heavy Armoured Special Cop (Female) looks like it was rushed out in order to compete with VTS and somehow just misses the mark. They should have gotten their act together before releasing these pictures. The female head sculpt looked like they gave the sculpting job to the people at Triad Toys and even the helmet doesn't sit properly - see the pictures below :( It's really a shame because we were expecting more from Art Figures. After all, they did come on with a bang when they releases their Ray Stevenson as Frank Castle / The Punisher figure back in 2011. You can check out the action figure review and pictures HERE and HERE
Art Figures AF-020 1:6 Heavy Armoured Special Cop (Female) will come with: Detailed likeness head sculpt, Body, Free hair sculpt for the previously released Heavy Armoured Special Cop. Costume: Leather combat jacket, Leather combat pants, Combat boots, Combat gloves, Bulletproof vest with Name plate, Tactical shoulder pads, Tactical knee pads, Helmet with visor, Gas mask. Weapon and gear: MP5 Submachine gun with magazine x 3, Smoke grenade, Stick grenade with Holder, Machine pistol with Holster, Clips with Holder, Tactical folding knife, Handcuffs, First aid kit, Gas mask bag

Interestingly enough, Art Figures is including a free hair sculpt for the previously released Heavy Armoured Special Cop with this package so that you can now put the hair piece onto the head of the previously released Judge Dredd figure. Even though Dredd never takes off his helmet in the film, everyone knows the actor under the helmet is Karl Urban and since Art Figures designed the figure with a removable helmet, now you can add the hair onto the Lego head that came with the Art Figures AF-015 1/6th scale Heavy Armoured Special Cop "DREDD" 12-inch figure. Don't know what I'm talking about? See the pictures HERE.
Art Figures will also be releasing a limited production of 300 pieces of the Art Figures 1/6th scale Heavy Armoured Special Cop "DREDD" 12-inch figure in classic blue style and distribute them into the global market. Why? Beats me. Perhaps they wanted it to look like the 2000AD comic book version of Judge Dredd. Then they should do the full getup and there will be buyers for sure.
Release Date: December 2015

VTS' version blows this version clear out of the water.
It's a pity because Art Figures did such a spot-on job for the male version.
They sure did! But Thank God for VTS version.... Plus we can spread the love to another company.
Agreed :) would never have gone with this figure. It's good to have other companies out there giving us choices.
Did the designers at Art Figures see the movie?
by the way, another reason not to purchase this is the fact that they misspelled anderson's name on the badge: "andeson" ...
such mistakes are unforgivable, given the price range for one 12 inch figure.
