Hot Toys Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith 1/6th Commander Cody Collectible Figure

Clone Commander Cody, also known as unit 2224, was a loyal clone trooper serving the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. Cody was often under the command of General Obi-Wan Kenobi, leading Ghost Squadron, and served with him and Anakin Skywalker at Geonosis, Christophsis and during a nearly disastrous campaign on Cato Neimoidia.

Cody developed a close and easygoing camaraderie with Kenobi, easily exchanging dry jokes with his Jedi General. This continued through to their mission to Utapau, to route out the entrenched Separatists forces commanded by General Grievous. Cody was ultimately subservient to the orders of the Republic, and when Order 66 was enacted -- branding Kenobi an enemy of the state -- Cody willingly carried out the command to open fire on his former friend.

Sideshow is proud to present the Scout Trooper Sixth Scale Figure, from Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

Suited for mobility while patrolling the forest moon of Endor, the Scout Trooper Sixth Scale Figure is equipped with a detailed helmet and unique Imperial armor, including front and rear torso armor with a power unit backpack, as well as shoulder, hip, knee, and arm guards. The figure has a black fabric undersuit with a vest and cummerbund pouches.

The Scout Trooper has two pairs of swap-out boots, including standing and action boots. In order to combat the rebel forces, the figure includes a blaster pistol, and seven interchangeable gloved hands including a pair of tight C-grip hands, left loose C-grip hand and pointer hands, and right single and double-finger trigger hands.

Preview S.H. Figuarts Star Wars: The Last Jedi action figures: Rey, Kylo, Praetorian Guards

One of the great things about action figures is that sometimes they offer us a glimpse into the future. Case in point: S.H. Figuarts has released official pictures of their upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi action figures and from them, you kind of know what to expect to see in the upcoming film. The line of action figures include: Rey in her new costume (to reflect a darker, more edgy feel?); a more streamlined Kylo Ren without the hood but he now has a scar on his face courtesy of Rey, a souvenir from the last film; the regular First Order Stormtroopers (what's a Star Wars film without Stormtroopers?); an intro to a new addition to the Stormtroopers - First Order Executioner (after the overwhelming response to the Riot Control Stormtrooper, the producers have to try and come up with another variation); Captain Phasma comes back with a vengeance; and a whole new group of players being introduced: the Elite Praetorian Guards - there are three different versions differentiated by their helmets and weapons they carry such as Whip Staff, Heavy Blade and Double Blades

Rey still has the gun Han Solo gave her in The Force Awakens. It seems BB-8 has grown quite attached to her, even though he's supposed to belong to Poe Dameron, ace pilot and commander in the Resistance's Starfighter Corps.

Sideshow is excited to present the Snowtrooper Commander Sixth Scale Figure to lead your Star Wars collection in the assault against the Rebel forces. This trooper comes complete with the Empire’s best gear for launching an attack on the Hoth Rebel base to ensure a swift victory.

The Snowtrooper Commander comes with a new helmet sculpt designed to help reduce snow glare on the icy expanses of Hoth. To identify rank among the subordinate Snowtroopers, the Commander also comes dressed in unique chest plate, back plate, and forearm armor for maximum protection against blaster fire.

Fabric pants and a long coat ensure that the Commander stays warm in the freezing cold and has the advantage on unsuspecting enemies. This elite Imperial officer is prepared with snow boots for traversing the hostile terrain of Hoth as the AT-ATs approach for an attack.

To attack Rebel forces, the Snowtrooper Commander comes equipped with a powerful BlasTech E-11 Blaster Rifle and BlasTech DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol. A belt-mounted thermal detonator packs an extra punch to help finish off the Rebel base's defenses.

Review 2: Hot Toys Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 1/6th scale Shoretrooper Collectible Figure

continued from previous toy blog post...

This is my second part action figure review of the recently released Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS389 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 1/6th scale Shoretrooper 12-inch Collectible Figure. This Shoretrooper definitely has more articulation than the Hot Toys MMS267 "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" 1/6th scale Stormtrooper 12-inch Figure (reviewed earlier HERE and HERE) due in part to the more flexible fabric black suit worn under his armor as well as brown pants instead of the skin-tight inflexible body glove worn by the stormtroopers. Even the Hot Toys Star Wars Rogue One 1/6th Death Trooper (Specialist) Collectible Figure was not spared the skin tight body glove issue - see the pics HERE and HERE. The only Stormtrooper with amazing articulation is the Bandai 1/6th scale Star Wars Stormtrooper Plastic Model Kit (check out the pics HERE and HERE).

This Shoretrooper captain (identifiable by the markings on his armor) certainly poses well. Perhaps Hot Toys might consider releasing the other two ranks later on since they already have the mould and it's just a matter of repainting the armor. They are famous for doing that. Regular shoretroopers featured sand colored armor, a red band around their right arm and a white stripe around their left shoulder guard whereas Squad leaders were identified by a sand blue stripe that went along the top of their chest plates and onto the top of their shoulder guards. Squad leaders also sported a kama attached to their belt. Stationed at the top secret Imperial security complex on the tropical planet Scarif, shoretroopers patrolled the beaches and bunkers of the facility. Shoretroopers operate, effectively, as Sergeants which allow them to command small squads of regular stormtroopers.
