Another Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater by Medicom

Medicom did such a great job with MGS3: Snake Eater in 2004 that there was an overwhelming demand for "Naked Snake", so much so that they decided to issue more versions of "Snake" in 2005. This was also a limited 1000 pc production and came in a much bigger box - surprise inside!

Box opened to reveal "Naked Snake" in "Snake Camouflage" BDU, an extra weapon and a Crocodile's head!

Snake now has an eye-patch and some paint on his face which is described on the box flap as "Splitter" (perhaps they meant "splinter"?)

Naked Snake is now also armed with an M16 assault rifle with suppressor

His CQC knife

His .45 pistol holstered

Naked Snake with his "Croc cap" - looks like a disguise to sneak up on his enemy when approaching via water.

UPDATE: In order to minimize visibility, the player in the game "Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater" must switch between different camouflage uniforms and face paints to blend in with the environment; for example, wearing a bark-patterned uniform while leaning against a tree, or wearing striped face paint while hiding in tall grass. Other devices for camouflage, such as a fake Gavial head to decrease chances of being detected in water, are also available.

Peek-a-boo!

The Croc (fake Gavial) head is very well sculpted

UPDATE January 29, 2010: I didn't have to pay USD300 bucks for this figure - that would be too much!!

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater by Medicom

I don't know much about the video game and storyline but I do appreciate beautifully crafted military action figures and Naked Snake certainly belongs in this category. Naked Snake fighting in the jungles of the Soviet Union during the Cold War circa 1964 is fine with me, as long as he is adequately equipped and ready to kick commie behind.

Medicom released this limited edition figure (only 1,000 pcs were produced) in 2004 [ Sorry Brad :( it's out of circulation, I think ] and I love the figure right off the bat! Came in a very nice packaging.

Snake in his tray, all ready for action!

Love the Headsculpt

Snake is wearing the tiger-striped camouflage outfit over his D.A.C.Q.C. (Direct Action Close Quarter Combat?) Suit.

He is armed with  a .45 Pistol with removeable suppressor

He has his comms gear and CQC knife attached to his Stabo-rig

Attached to his web belt are his two ammo pouches and water canteen in holder

Also has his butt pack and radio in pouch

His holster for pistol

Last but not least, his combat knife strapped to his lower leg

V3 from Kamen Rider The Next (2007)

Japanese tokusatsu (live action films with special effects) - don't really follow them these days but definitely want to get the DVD of "Kamen Rider The Next" which is a sequel to "Kamen Rider the First", a retelling of the Kamen Riders/Masked Riders with an updated look which means cooler costumes, unlike the very basic ones of the Showa era.

The Shocker organisation sends Kamen Rider Version 3 (hence "V3") alongside six new Shocker Riders to attack Kamen Riders 1 & 2. Don't hold your breath for oscar-winning scripts or performances - this movie is just to drool at cool costumes.

The new look V3 (supposedly fashioned after the dragonfly whilst Kamen Riders 1 & 2 get their look from grasshoppers)

V3's "Double Typhoon" belt

The stamp of Shocker (which stands for "Sacred Hegemony Of Cycle Kindred Evolutional Realm" - still trying to figure out what it means)

Check out Kamen Riders the Next group shots.

Under Siege (1992)

Steven Seagal stars as Chief Petty Officer Casey Ryback, a former Navy SEAL who has to stop a group of mercenaries, led by a psychopathic ex-CIA agent played by Tommy Lee Jones, from stealing nuclear weapons on board the USS Missouri, assisted by the ship's corrupt Executive Officer, Commander Krill (played by Gary Busey). Basically, "Diehard" on a USN battleship.

I am Legend (2007)

Will Smith is US Army virologist Lieutenant Colonel Robert Neville, possibly the last healthy human in New York City and the entire world after the outbreak of a lethal virus in December 2009 wiped out 90% of the planet's human population, with 9% of the survivors having degenerated into a primal state of aggression and began to react painfully to UV radiation, forcing them to hide in buildings and other dark places during the day. Less than 1% remained completely immune to the virus, but were hunted and killed by the infected or committed suicide due to their isolation.

Neville has his pet dog, Samantha (Sam) for company, along with mannequins he has set up as patrons of a video store, and recordings of old news and entertainment broadcasts.

Kitbashed "I am Legend" Will Smith with Sam.
