Flirty Girl Collectibles FGCDX-004 1:6 scale Female Collectible Figure will come with FB02-M 2.0 Version female body with double joint elbows, Female head sculpt, Peasant blouse with lace trim, Faux leather Bust corset, Pants with stitch detail, Golden bicep and forearm cover, Faux leather equipment belt, Relaxed hands (pair), Grip hand (pair), Dagger left hand (1 piece),Bow left hand (1 piece), Arrow right hand (1 piece), Faux leather hand cover, Potion bottle with pouch, Archer bow, Arrow bag with (5) arrows, Dagger knife with holder, Boots (made to fit bare foot), Art Box.

Since the 2012 American science fiction adventure film "Hunger Games", Jennifer Lawrence has shot to fame and along with her character, female archers as well. The female wasn't a damsel in distress any longer but a thinking, fighting, kicking, never say die warrior. "Katniss isn't passive, she isn't weak, and she isn't some random girl. She's active, she's strong and she's the girl who motivates the story." So it's no surprise that 1/6 scale female archers will pop up on the horizon for 12-inch figure collectors with companies hoping to make money out of them. After all, there are still two films based on the last book "Mockingjay" to be released.

Last photos of Sideshow Collectibles COBRA Ninja Assassin 1/6th Storm Shadow (Review IV)

continued from previous post...

You can order this from Sideshow Collectibles

This will probably be my last toy blog post and review of the Sideshow Collectibles COBRA Ninja Assassin 1/6 scale Storm Shadow 12-inch figure... for now. This is such a great figure with so many posing options and combinations that I had a lot of fun posing him and taking pictures. We don't play with toys like when we used to when we were kids but collecting, posing action figures and taking pictures of them is also very enjoyable, at least for me so I'll just keep on keeping on racking them up and shooting them and posting the pictures on my toy blog site for anyone who is interested and care to take a look. Comments are always welcome :) I've certainly made quite a few friends along the way.

This isn't the first Storm Shadow sixth scale figure from G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toyline to be released by Sideshow Collectibles but IMHO it is the BEST 12-inch Storm Shadow figure by far from Sideshow. Interestingly enough, the first Storm Shadow looked more Japanese / Asian than this latest version. Anyway, according to wiki, Storm Shadow's real name is Thomas S. Arashikage (トーマス・嵐影) (Arashi meaning "Storm" and kage meaning "shadow" in Japanese), a Japanese American.

In these pictures posted on my toy blog, you see Sideshow Collectibles 12-inch Storm Shadow figure with the claw right hand and shuriken holding left hand that are included with this boxed set. You can see all the 1/6 scale gear and accessories in my part 1 review posted HERE. Part 2 review (pictures HERE) was Storm Shadow with his katana and tonfus followed by the third part review of this COBRA Ninja Assassin with his compound bow and arrow (see the previous post HERE).

Check out this 25.5 inch tall Wonder Woman Premium Format Figure by Sideshow Collectibles

You can pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles

Joining her powerful allies of the Justice League, Sideshow Collectibles is proud to present the magnificent Wonder Woman Premium Format™ Figure.

Handcrafted with austere beauty and fierce determination, Princess Diana of Themyscira dons her iconic costume of stars and stripes, sworn to protect the world and uphold her mantle as Wonder Woman. Granted divine superhuman powers and superior combat skills, the warrior princess is ready to gracefully accept any challenge, armed with her golden Lasso of Truth, indestructible bracelets, and tiara. She carries a long spear across her shoulders, and her iconic shield grasped firmly at her side - but above all, she carries the Amazons’ message of peace and justice.

Fans of the mythic DC Comics superheroine are sure to find the Wonder Woman Premium Format™ Figure an essential addition to their collection!

Perhaps this is how Wonder Woman should look on film. There have been so many versions of Batman and Superman live on screen (big and small) but there's only one Lynda Carter Wonder Woman from the 1975–1979 Wonder Woman TV series. Since Carter's television series, studios struggled to introduce a new live-action Wonder Woman to audiences. In 2013 it was announced that Israeli actress Gal Gadot would portray Wonder Woman in the 2016 film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Will she measure up? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, check out these preview pictures of  Sideshow Collectibles 25.5 inch tall Wonder Woman Premium Format Figure. Scroll down to see the rest of the pictures. Click on them for bigger and better views.

Incoming: VeryCool VCM-3008 "Kane & Lynch" 1/6th scale Medicated Psychopath James figure

continued from previous post...

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is a 2007 third-person shooter video game developed by IO Interactive and published by Eidos Interactive in North America and PAL regions, and Spike in Japan, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game was received with mixed to positive reviews, and spawned a sequel, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days.

James formerly managed a warehouse in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before being arrested and convicted of the murder of his wife Annie and sentenced to death row. He stands 6"1", has green eyes, and receding long hair. He is a medicated schizophrenic and psychopath. It was currently unknown whether or not he killed his wife, but from dialogues strongly suggested that he did. An example of this was during the prison mission, when he uncertainly said that he was unsure what happened that night. James was sentenced to death.

Now, both of Adam and James were waiting for the prison, waiting for the prison van to carry them to death room. They two were heading for no future. But during the van travelling, Adam and James escaped. Subsequently, these two death prisoners launched a series of operations and missions...

Preview: VeryCool VCM-3007 1/6 Mercenary "Adam" from Kane & Lynch video game

"YOU SHOULD... HAVE LET... ME TALK TO THEM!" - Adam

Adam was an ex-mercenary and former member of the notorious group 'The 7'. Once an elated father with children and a wife, Adam was employed as a police officer in his early age, living a sustained and well off existence, content with his circumstances. But after a tragic accident that led to the death of his son, his once wonderful personal life dissolved, along with his loved ones, and he became distraught.

Becoming a criminal out of his grief, he later joined the prominent gun-for-hire organization known as 'The 7', undertaking the role as a soldier of fortune. After a misdirected operation involving him in Venezuela, that accidentally caused the death of 25 local citizens, he was captured, detained, extradited back to the U.S. and sentenced to death……

Review III: Sideshow Collectibles COBRA Ninja Assassin 1/6 scale Storm Shadow 12-inch figure

continued from previous post...

You can order this from Sideshow Collectibles

I was sold on this Storm Shadow figure when I first saw the preview pictures posted by Sideshow Collectibles HERE so I couldn't wait to receive this figure and pose this "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" COBRA Ninja Assassin 1/6 scale Storm Shadow 12-inch figure with his compound bow and arrows (four are included with this figure - all the box contents can be viewed in my review post HERE). We always know that Storm Shadow is a ninja and therefore very adept with his katana / sword and throwing stars / shuriken but we forget that as a ninja, he probably is just as skilled with a bow.

So here are pictures I took of Storm Shadow about to shoot an arrow using his compound bow. Like I mentioned before, the Sideshow Collectibles Prometheus body is not the best friend to collectors because it falls over too easily so some patience is required to get him into the poses that you want. Still I was quite pleased with how the photos turned out.

Very Hot 1/6th scale U.S. Navy SEAL Polar Mountain Striker Uniform Set (DCU version)

Mountain warfare refers to warfare in the mountains or similarly rough terrain. This type of warfare is also called Alpine warfare, after the Alps mountains. Mountain warfare is one of the most dangerous types of combat as it involves surviving not only combat with the enemy but also the extreme weather and dangerous terrain. Attacking a prepared enemy position in mountain terrain requires a greater ratio of attacking soldiers to defending soldiers than would be needed on level ground. Mountains at any time of year are dangerous – lightning, strong gusts of wind, falling rocks, extreme cold, and crevasses are all additional threats to combatants.

The expense of training mountain troops precludes them from being on the order of battle of most armies except those who reasonably expect to fight in such terrain. Mountain warfare training is arduous and in many countries is the exclusive preserve of elite units such as special forces or commandos, who as part of their remit should have the ability to fight in difficult terrain. Regular units may also occasionally undertake training of this nature.

Mountain troop climbers use a range of specialized climbing equipment that includes: special climbing shoes with sticky rubber soles, climbing harnesses, carabiners for hooking onto climbing rope lines, nuts - metal wedges that fit into cracks, used to secure climbing lines.

Very Hot will be releasing not one but two U.S. Navy SEAL Polar Mountain Striker Uniform Sets (Woodlands camouflage version and Desert camouflage version) that look very similar to the ones released by Hot Toys many many years ago when Hot Toys were still small and concentrating on the military figures market, before they hit the big time with their Movie Masterpiece Series. These are great sets because they come fully loaded with everything except the kitchen sink.

Dragon Models "Iron Man 3" 1/9 Mark 7, Mark 21, Mark 33, Mark 38, Mark 39, Mark 42 & more!

Dragon Models and DART (Dragon Advanced Research & Technology) are excited to introduce their latest innovation in 3D technology, Marvel Ironman 3 "Action Hero Vignettes" in 1/9th scale. Pre-painted and with just the snap of a few parts, you can have a highly detailed desktop display of your favorite Avenger!

A hybrid between a display figure and a kit, Dragon brings you the best of both worlds. The use of model kit techniques allow Dragon Models to reproduce the intricate details and sharp lines to maximize the usage of the official 3D character scans. The use of the static display concept ensures that there are no cooling lines on the torsos and no visible ball joints that are prominent in most "action" figures. Additionally, the figures are set in a Marvel suggested pose so that the body portions won't be deformed when the poses are changed.

In essence these are Highly collectible display models Developed in 3D, using official data from Marvel. They are supposedly Highly detailed and accurate, cast in Dynamic poses with diorama bases, Fully colored and textured to movie likeness. Minimal assembly required, simply "plug and display". Certainly an alternative to collecting the whole series of armor suits seen in "Iron Man 3".

Sideshow Collectibles COBRA Ninja Assassin 1/6th Storm Shadow 12-inch figure Review II

continued from previous post...

You can order this from Sideshow Collectibles

Having covered this Sideshow Collectibles "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" COBRA Ninja Assassin 1/6 scale Storm Shadow box and contents including a stripping down of the layers of clothing he wears in the previous post, here's a look at Storm Shadow with all his gear and accessories put on. This figure came with quite a lot of accessories and gloved hands for posing which makes him a lot more fun to shoot and take pictures of.

You'll probably guess by now that this is not the live-action film version of Storm Shadow portrayed by Lee Byung-hun in the 2009 film "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra", and the 2013 sequel "G.I. Joe: Retaliation". This is the Storm Shadow from the "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" toyline, comic books and cartoon series. He is best known as the Cobra Commander's ninja bodyguard, and for his history with fellow ninja Snake Eyes. In this version, Storm Shadow is not korean but a Japanese American.

July 2014 haul: A Dead Cosmonaut (3A), Green Beret (Lt Falcon) and SAS: Who Dares Wins!

July is almost over and I haven't got much to show for it. I guess you could say July was a slow month, at least for me. I only got the ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Adventure Kartel Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez 12.5-inch figure, Sideshow Collectibles 2012 San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive (SDCC) 1/6 scale G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Lt. Falcon 12-inch Green Beret figure and a Action Man 40th Anniversary SAS Complete Uniform Set.

Two out of the three were impulse buys. The Sideshow SDCC 2012 Exclusive G.I. Joe Green Beret Lt Falcon sixth scale figure and Action Man 40th Anniversary SAS Complete Uniform Set were unplanned as I did not pre-order them but they just happen to pop up whereas the ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Adventure Kartel Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez 12.5-inch figure has been on the waiting list since I pre-ordered it some time ago.

Incoming: DAM TOYS 1/6th scale Gangsters Kingdom (GK#007) Spade 5 "Baron" 12" figure

CHAPTER 4: The war began.
Section 1: Declaration of war.

Baron, the 5 of Spades, is a former SAS sniper. He joined the army with a simple wish: shooting enemies on the battlefield. But the reality seems enjoy going against wishes. Baron finally received an order to eliminate an important member of Al-Qaeda; he had been waiting long enough for this chance, and this mission made him energetic all day long. Finally he placed the target in the middle of his crosshair, while suddenly the target picked up a child and hold in his arms. Baron had a little moment of hesitate. The reality always throws to us single-choice questions, and we only have one chance, but making this choice would sometimes make us lost our mind. Being a devil, you can destroy everything before your eyes; but if you are a saint, you have to live with your choice.

After retirement from the army, Baron could not find a proper job, not even a place to stay. He tried to keep himself drunk every day, so that he could stop from thinking of that picture, the child’s face. Referred by a comrade back in the army, Baron picked up a job to carry out those dirty works for the mob, utilizing his sniping skills. At first he did not want to do this any more, but life did not leave him much choice, especially when poverty was challenged by lucrative payments. Soon as he pulled the trigger again, more jobs kept coming in. He soon got the trust from the Spades family via his precision and cleanness, and eventually he began to work solely for the Spade family. Finally, he earned himself a card in the family, as well as the love of the 6 of Spades, little sister of J.

Check out this upcoming Soldier Story release of a 1/6 scale French Special Forces 12-inch figure

Forces spéciales (English: Special Forces) is a 2011 French war adventure film directed by Stéphane Rybojad and starring Diane Kruger, Djimon Hounsou, Benoît Magimel, Mehdi Nebbou, and Tchéky Karyo. Filmed on location in France, Djibouti, and Tajikistan, the film shows a group of elite French soldiers on a desperate hostage rescue mission in the Afghanistan / Pakistan area. Forces spéciales is mainly in French, with brief scenes in English and Persian.

Djimon Hounsou stars as Kovax, leader of the team of French Naval Commandos entrusted with the rescue of a Kabul-based French journalist Elsa Casanova (Diane Kruger). The whole theme of the movie does remind me of "Tears of the Sun". While filming the action scenes, the actors were overseen and advised by French naval special forces according to the press folder available on the official site. Moreover one of their former chief instructors (Alain Alivon) played his own role.

This will be the Soldier Story upcoming release of their 1/6 scale French Special Forces 12-inch figure. The head sculpt seems to have a resemblance to Djimon Hounsou but the shirt, necklace, MP7 and Glock configurations, FAST helmet, shoes, radio set, along with breaching tools... all look to be referenced from the widely distributed pictures of the dead French commando from the failed Bulo Marer rescue attempt in Somalia about a year ago. On 11 January 2013, the French military attempted a rescue operation in Bulo Marer, Somalia to free a hostage known under the code-name "Denis Allex" from Al-Shabaab. The operation failed and Allex was executed in response.

Important Note: This product is for military collectors and historic education purposes only, and it is not intended to glorify nor exploit the horrors and atrocities of war.

Review 1: Sideshow Collectibles COBRA Ninja Assassin 1/6 scale Storm Shadow 12-inch figure

You can order this from Sideshow Collectibles

This was part of my last haul for June 2014 (posted HERE) and it's time to do a review with lots of pictures. This Storm Shadow sixth scale figure is only my second Sideshow G.I. Joe related figure. The other figure I got was also an enemy of G.I. Joe, a Cobra Saboteur who goes by the code name: Firefly (You can check out my review and pictures posted HERE, HERE and HERE).

Storm Shadow is a fictional character from the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toyline, comic books and cartoon series. He is best known as the Cobra Commander's ninja bodyguard, and for his history with fellow ninja Snake Eyes. Throughout their history, he has changed sides several times; conflicted in loyalties between Cobra, G.I. Joe, and his blood brother, Snake Eyes. Storm Shadow is one of the most prominent characters in the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero franchise, and has appeared in every series since its inception.

In his original A Real American Hero incarnation, Storm Shadow's real name is Thomas S. Arashikage (トーマス・嵐影) (Arashi meaning "Storm" and kage meaning "shadow" in Japanese), a Japanese American. Storm Shadow served in the U.S. Army special operations group along with Snake Eyes, and later invited him to train as a ninja with his family in Japan. The duo have been everything to one another from the bitterest of enemies, to the most loyal of friends, who would fight and die for one another.

This is the Storm Shadow Sideshow Collectibles COBRA Ninja Assassin is based upon, not the live-action film version portrayed by Lee Byung-hun in the 2009 live-action film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and the 2013 sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation. That one was released by Hot Toys.

July 23 was "Batman Day": Happy 75th Birthday, Batman! Not too bad for a 75-year-old hero

DC Comics has declared July 23 as "Batman Day" in honor of the crime fighter's 1939 comic book debut.

To help celebrate Batman Day, Gulf News / tabloid has put together a 4-page PDF highlighting the evolution of the dark knight over the years. "Batman's overall look has evolved over the decades in the different universes of comic books, TV shows, movies and even video games, resulting in hundreds of different versions. tabloid! has selected 20 of the most iconic, popular and oddest incarnations of the caped crusader to create this series of fully digital sculptures. Enjoy."

tabloid! has done a pretty amazing job and I just love these infographics. Check out the SOURCE: Gulf News for all the pdf and images, including Bat gadgets and Bat vehicles over the years, covering everything from shark repellents to electromagnetic pulse (EMP) guns. tabloid! features the more iconic and significant contraptions and modes of land transport Batman has used throughout his crime-fighting career.

Check out Kotobukiya previews of DC Comics Batwoman Bishoujo Statue - She's a stunner!

"New age of crime... meet new age of crime-fighter".

Batwoman is a fictional character, a superheroine who appears in comic books published by DC Comics. In all incarnations, Batwoman is a wealthy heiress who—inspired by the notorious superhero Batman—chooses, like him, to put her wealth and resources towards funding a war on crime in her home of Gotham City. The identity of Batwoman is shared by two heroines in mainstream DC publications; both women are named Katherine Kane, with the original Batwoman commonly referred to by her nickname Kathy and the modern incarnation going by the name Kate.

Batwoman was created by Bob Kane and Sheldon Moldoff with writer Edmond Hamilton under the direction of editor Jack Schiff, as part of an ongoing effort to expand Batman's cast of supporting characters. Batwoman began appearing in DC Comics stories beginning with Detective Comics #233 (1956), in which she was introduced as a love interest for Batman in order to combat the allegations of Batman's homosexuality arising from the controversial book Seduction of the Innocent (1954).

After a long hiatus, Batwoman was reintroduced to DC continuity in 2006 in the seventh week of the publisher's year-long 52 weekly comic book. Reintroduced as Kate Kane, the modern Batwoman began operating in Gotham City in Batman's absence following the events of the company-wide crossover Infinite Crisis (2005).

Kotobukiya previews their Marvel Now Deadpool "Merc with a Mouth" ARTFX+ Statue

"I might be crazy, but I'm not KARAAAZY."

Deadpool (Wade Winston Wilson) is a fictional character, a mercenary and anti-hero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by artist Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza, Deadpool first appeared in New Mutants #98 (Feb. 1991).

A disfigured and mentally unstable mercenary, Deadpool originally appeared as a villain in an issue of New Mutants, and later in issues of X-Force. The character has since starred in several ongoing series, and shares titles with other characters such as Cable. Also known as the "Merc with a Mouth", Deadpool is famous for his talkative nature and his tendency to break the fourth wall, which is used by writers to humorous effect.

These are preview pictures of Kotobukiya's Marvel Now Deadpool ARTFX+ Statue. It does look pretty awesome and might prove to be a hot seller given the character's rise in popularity these days. Why that is I'm not too sure but he does get a lot of attention and is proving to be as hot as Wolverine.

MONDO Is Doing Toys: Iron Giant 16" Collectible Figure, TMNT and 1/6 scale Alfred Hitchcock

Exclusive Comic-Con Preview for Mondo's Very First Toys

Austin, TX - Monday, July 21, 2014 - Mondo is doing toys! The launch of figures for The Iron Giant, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Alfred Hitchcock are Mondo's first foray into toy collectibles, with the subjects and diversity of design reflecting Mondo's unique passions. The initial offerings include replicas as well as toys from artist-based designs, which can be previewed at San Diego Comic-Con in Mondo's booth (#835).

Toys join Mondo's growing list of pop culture passions in posters, vinyl, gallery events, VHS and apparel. "I am so pumped to announce toys! We've been working on this in secrecy for a year and now it's time to let you guys know about it. We'll be focusing on existing properties that we love as well as working with artists to bring their own creations to life. This is a new area for us, but I resist the term 'expansion' since the goal for Mondo has always been to be a place where artists and designers can work to have their visions realized, whether that's through posters, gallery shows, vinyl, apparel or now toys," said Mondo CEO Justin Ishmael.

THE IRON GIANT
Celebrating its 15th anniversary, The Iron Giant has reaped praise as being among the greatest animated films ever made (recently ranked #7 on Time Out's 100 Best Animated Movies list) and it was important for Mondo to honor the film with an appropriately stunning collectible.

The Iron Giant Collectible Figure
The 16" tall figure will have over 30 points of articulation, light features, and other fun surprises! Accompanying The Iron Giant will be a Hogarth figure, scraps of metal for him to munch on and a Seafood sign that has a removable "S" to put on his chest. He will also include an interchangeable head and gun attachment, giving a choice of displaying the figure as the regular version, or the "War" version! The figure was designed from the actual CG files used in the film, for ultimate accuracy.
