Bandai Tamashii Exclusive Marvel Manga Realization Samurai Captain America Figure

Bandai has been quite successful with their Tamashii Nations Star Wars Movie Realization line of Samurai-inspired Star Wars action figures, mostly of the armor-clad troopers of the Galactic Empire.

Now they have gone into Manga Realization of Marvel characters reimagined as Samurai warriors. Bandai Tamashii Exclusive Marvel Manga Realization Samurai Captain America Figure will be joining Spider-Man (previewed on my toy blog HERE) and Iron Man (pics HERE) as part of Bandai's re-imagining of Marvel superheroes into Samurai inspired warriors of Feudal Japan.

Samurai Captain America has a painted face guard as part of his mask / helmet and comes with huge wings on the sides of his head. The figure will include interchangeable gloved hands, his trademark shield, as well as a Samrai sword with sheath. The star on the figure's chest can also be removed and used as a shuriken. Now isn't that interesting. The shield can be attached to the figure's back or forearms.

Iron Studios Limited Edition Captain America: Civil War Winter Soldier Polystone Statue

Sergeant James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes is a former soldier of the 107th Infantry Regiment and the childhood best friend of Steve Rogers. As World War II was escalating, he was recruited to become a member of the Howling Commandos. During the time between 1943 and the end of the war in 1945, they had attacked and disabled many HYDRA bases. In the midst a fight on a HYDRA train, Barnes was attacked and promptly plummeted off the side of the train. He was then presumed to be deceased, though unbeknownst to his teammates Barnes had actually survived, albeit with the loss of his left arm. Brainwashed and armed with a new cybernetic limb, Barnes ultimately became an enhanced HYDRA operative known as the Winter Soldier. Over the next several decades, he would eliminate anyone who posed a threat to HYDRA, including his former ally, Howard Stark.

In the aftermath of the Battle at the Triskelion, the Winter Soldier went on the run from HYDRA on a self-imposed mission to remember his past and end his violent history. However, during this time Barnes was accused of murdering the King of Wakanda, causing the Black Panther to engage him in a vengeance-driven pursuit. Barnes was saved by Captain America, sparking the Avengers Civil War as he also became a target for Secretary of State Thaddeus Ross and Iron Man.

Seen@STGCC2016 Part 1: Hot Toys Booth - Star Wars, Avengers, Daredevil, Batman v Superman, Back to the Future II and Alien

The Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2016 is on now at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands, Level B2, Halls E & F from 10 to 11 September. And as is my custom, I was there bright and early to take pictures of the figures and stuff on display to blog about it on my toy blog. I am blessed with the privilege to be able to take pictures while the crowd is still not yet in the halls so that there won't be too many distracting people or reflections around the displays.

There are two main booths I always head for once I am in and that is the Hot Toys booth and the XM Studio booth (see the NEXT post) because these usually are the two biggest exhibitors at The Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC). Most of Hot Toys exhibits have already been shown at other earlier conventions, most notable the San Diego Comic-Con but it's still nice to see the actual product and be able to take pictures of it. XM Studios is Singapore's very own producer of limited edition premium statue collectibles and IMHO they produce one of the best statues I've ever seen. Almost all their statues are works of art and they endeavour to create only the most outstanding original designs of exquisite value. Being a local boy, I can only say with pride that they certainly deserve all the accolades and worldwide attention they are getting because a lot of hard work and dedication got them where they are today :)
