Preview ace new product: Operation Delaware 1968 – 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) - superb!

Operation Delaware was a joint military operation launched during the Vietnam War. It began on Friday, April 19, 1968, with troops from the United States and the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) moving into the A Shau Valley. The A Shau Valley was a vital corridor for moving vast amounts of supplies coming from the Ho Chi Minh Trail and was used by the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN) as a staging area for numerous attacks in northern I Corps.

The 1st Cavalry Division is one of the most decorated combat divisions of the United States Army, as well as the other four branches of the U.S. military. It was formed in 1921 and served during World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf War, with the Stabilization Force in Bosnia-Herzegovina, in the Iraq War, and in the War in Afghanistan (2001–present).

By the time the 1st Cavalry Division fought in the Vietnam War, it was no longer a conventional infantry unit. The division had become an air assault division as the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), commonly referred to as the 1st Air Cavalry Division. The use of helicopters on such large scale as troop carriers, cargo lift ships, medevacs, and as aerial rocket artillery, was never before implemented, but by doing so it freed the infantry from the tyranny of terrain to attack the enemy at the time and place of their choosing.

This is ace new upcoming offering: Operation Delaware 1968 – 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) 12-inch military figure and it is superb! Everything on this figure is outstanding and the photos that ace has posted makes the figure look so real. I haven't been getting Vietnam era military figures for a while but this might be my next purchase. ace Operation Delaware 1968 – 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) 12-inch military figure really blows the mind!

The ace new product: Operation Delaware 1968 – 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) 12-inch figure does bear some resemblance to Tom Hanks (and his name tag says so). Tom Hanks did go to Vietnam as a soldier in the movie "Forrest Gump (1994)" so that's probably where ace got the inspiration for this figure ;p

Hi Karl, I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with UK shops. Perhaps a collector from UK can help answer this.Cheers
