Review I: Sideshow Collectibles Star Wars Scum and Villainy 1/6th scale Boba Fett 12-inch Figure

No name strikes more fear into the heart of a galactic fugitive than that of Boba Fett. The famed bounty hunter's cool, helmeted visage is known to the denizens of countless worlds, though few have ever encountered the mysterious warrior, and fewer still would have any clue to his true identity or face.

The product of Kaminoan cloning, Boba Fett was the unaltered clone and son of Jango Fett, a Mandalorian hunter no less deadly in his day than his progeny. Trained in the techniques of his people and gifted with his father's cunning, young Boba follows in Jango's footsteps after the bounty hunter's untimely death on Geonosis. Boba Fett's trademarks are his instantly recognizable Mandalorian battle armor, his scorched jetpack and battered old Firespray interceptor Slave I, inherited from his father. All the bounty hunter's tools are custom fitted with modifications and improvements that grant him the edge in tracking and tackling his marks.

This is the recently released Sideshow Collectibles Star Wars Scum and Villainy Series 1/6th scale Boba Fett 12-inch Bounty Hunter Figure. Boba Fett is a "cult figure" and one of the most popular Star Wars characters. No one knows why Boba Fett has become so popular, nor cares why, both George Lucas and Jeremy Bulloch cite Fett's mysterious nature as reasons for his popularity.

The Sideshow Collectibles Boba Fett Sixth Scale Figure features: Highly detailed Mandolorian Boba Fett helmet, Articulated Prometheus 1.1 body with over 30 points of articulation, Newly developed and sculpted forearms and chest, Fabric Flight Suit, Flight Suit Vest, Mandolorian Duraplast Body Armor Plates, Cape, Three (3) braided wookiee scalps, Belt with four (4) utility pouches, Braided honor sash, Blaster Pistol Holster, Detailed Gauntlets, Deluxe Illuminated Display Base

In the accessories tray: Blaster Pistol, EE-3 mark 1 Carbine Blaster, One (1) pair knee pads, Survival Knife, Sonic Beam Weapon, Anti-Security Blade, Rocket Pack Adjustment Tool, One (1) pair gloved fists, One (1) right gloved trigger hand, One (1) left gloved tight trigger hand, One (1) right gloved single point hand, One (1) right gloved double point hand, One (1) right gloved thumbs up hand, One (1) pair gloved large C grip hands, One (1) left gloved small C grip hand, One (1) right gloved cupped hand, One (1) pair standing boots, One (1) pair action boots, Rocket Pack with concussion missile

Close-up of Boba Fett's back. Note the two square looking rings for the Rocket Pack to latch on to.

Check out the highly detailed multi-layered belt with pouches and holster plus sash plus crotch armor around his waist. Never seen it done in such detail in 1/6th scale before.

Boba Fett's knee-pad rocket dart launchers are secured by elastic bands. Not too happy with this because elasticity doesn't last very long :(  His pants are secured by strips / ties to prevent debris from going into his boots.

Boba Fett's accessories all laid out: Rocket Pack with concussion missile, Deluxe Illuminated Display Base, EE-3 mark 1 Carbine Blaster, Blaster Pistol, Sonic Beam Weapon, Rocket Pack Adjustment Tool, Anti-Security Blade, and Survival Knife.

Closer view of the BlasTech EE-3 mark 1 Carbine Blaster and Blaster Pistol. The BlasTech EE-3 Carbine Rifle is a blaster that was modeled after the E-11 Blaster Rifle. The rifle consists of a small handle attached to a long circular barrel. Boba Fett modified his by adding a stock and an electronic scope for sniping, making it a dangerous weapon.

Another view of the EE-3 carbine rifle. Note the nice details all round and at the pistol grip plus the circular dial lever where the rotating cylinder of a revolver would be. Never seen it done in such fine detail before in 1/6th scale. Certainly never seen a sling attached to the rifle.

Here's a look at Sideshow Collectibles Star Wars Scum and Villainy 1/6th scale Boba Fett Mitrinomon Z-6 jetpack (front view). Boba Fett made his first appearance (in the movies) with a GREEN jetpack.

The top of the jet pack had a turbo-projected magnetic grappling hook with 20-meter lanyard (replaceable with 100 meters). A winch inside the launcher could lift up to 100 kilograms. The grappling hook unit was replaceable with an anti-vehicle homing missile.

Last but not least, the Sideshow Collectibles Deluxe Illuminated Display Base. Obviously meant to represent a part of the Cloud City carbon-freezing chamber where Darth Vader used the carbon-freezing chamber to encase Han Solo in carbonite.

Pretty cool light-up feature with the grates lighted up in red while the lights are illuminated in blue
