Released nineteen years after the previous film, the fourth Indy movie "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" acknowledges its star Harrison Ford's age by setting itself in 1957. To keep aesthetic continuity with the previous films, the crew relied on traditional stunt work instead of computer-generated stunt doubles.
Shia LaBeouf plays Henry "Mutt Williams" Jones III, a motorcycle-riding greaser and Indiana's sidekick. As the movie progresses, they both discover that they are very much related - Mutt is Indy's son (Check out my post "Who's your daddy?"). Mutt dresses almost identical to Marlon Brando as gang leader Johnny Strabler in "The Wild One (1953)".
Hasbro's 1/6 scale 12-inch Mutt Williams action figure comes with T-shirt, jeans, boots, knife, sword and belt with sheath. Plus sword slashing and knife throwing action! I only got him because he was going for a song! I added the jacket as it makes him look much better.
Mutt Williams never much cared for prep school life. But when he makes an enemy of the sinister Irena Spalko (played by Cate Blanchett), a Russian commando and sword-master, his years of fencing lessons pay off.
"En garde!" - a French phrase meaning 'on guard'. Used to warn a fencer to assume the position preparatory to a duel.
Shia LaBeouf has certainly come a long way from his "Even Stevens" days with Disney Channel. We'll see him again as Sam Witwicky in the Transformers sequel, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" opening in theatres tomorrow!! Bring on the ultra HOT Megan Fox - hubba hubba!
"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" was released worldwide on May 22, 2008, and was a financial success, grossing over $786 million worldwide, becoming the second highest grossing film of 2008 (see "2008 Top 10 Hollywood movies" post here).
