continued from previous toy blog post...
This is a second-part review of the Bandai Star Wars Movie Realization Samurai Taisho Darth Vader 18 cm tall action figure, designed by Takayuki Takeya. Here Darth Vader is shown wielding his lightsaber sword. The blade is translucent red to give the impression of a light based sword rather than a solid steel sword, in line with the interpretation that Star Wars existed in feudal Japan when the samurais were lords of their domain and fought battles to rule over more land. This Bandai Star Wars Movie Realization Samurai Taisho Darth Vader looks to be inspired by actual samurai armor worn by warrior Date Masamune. Check out the 1:6 scale version of Samurai Date Masamune released by DiD a while back - see my action figure review HERE.
Besides this Samurai Darth Vader action figure, Bandai has also released a Ashigaru Stormtrooper action figure (review posted on my toy blog HERE and HERE), a Ronin Kenzan Boba Fett action figure (reviewed HERE and HERE) and a Teppo Ashigaru Sandtrooper action figure (part of my March 2016 haul - posted HERE). That's four down and more on the way.
