Hot Toys Iron Man 2: Mark IV Review III - Tony Stark headsculpt

continued from the previous post...
Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) reading from Natasha Romanoff's (Scarlett Johansson) SHIELD Report on Iron Man / Tony Stark
Tony Stark: "Mr. Stark displays textbook... narcissism."
Stark stares at Nick Fury, who simply stares at him back
Tony Stark: "Agreed."
Definition of Narcissism: an exceptional interest in and admiration for yourself; "self-love that shut out everyone else". And that exactly describes how perfectly cast Robert Downey Jr. is to play Tony Stark. Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark and Tony Stark is Iron Man - they are one and the same AND that's one of the reasons why the Iron Man films have been so GREAT and FUN to watch!

In one of the classic scenes from the "Iron Man 2" film, we find Tony Stark dressed in the Mark IV armor eating a donut while reclining inside the donut sign of Randy's Donuts when he is approached by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). The donut sign is a 23-foot (7.0 m) doughnut on the roof of an otherwise ordinary drive-in that is a dedicated doughnut bakery.

Since I don't have a 1/6 scale Randy's Donuts nor the donut sign, this will have to do :) I put Hot Toys Mark IV suit with the Tony Stark headsculpt that is included on a fashionable bright yellow chair because only Robert Downey Jr. can carry it off.

This is the Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS123 Iron Man 2 1/6th scale Mark IV Limited Edition Collectible Figurine with alternate head sculpt of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, including the shades and collar, donut and box (bright yellow chair NOT included)

Hot Toys bothered to include the collar so that the head wouldn't just stick out from the Mark IV armor suit like a sore thumb. The collar makes it look like the head is naturally part of the suit and it actually makes a lot of difference to the look. It isn't just plonking the head on; it's fitting the head in. I like that Hot Toys actually gave it a lot of thought into these little details - BRAVO Hot Toys, Well Done!

As for the head sculpt, I don't know about you but this looks 100% like Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark) to me. The likeness and resemblance is AMAZING; the HS is stunningly GOOD!

Scroll down to see more close-up pictures of the very well executed Hot Toys Iron Man 2: Mark IV 1/6 scale Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark head sculpt, both with the sunglasses on and without shades - I'm lovin' it! Dig the donut and box too coz the head and shades goes with the donut and box haha

The quality of the sculpts and paintwork for 1/6 figures nowadays are so real and life-like that it boggles the mind. The people at Hot Toys have truly elevated these collectibles into works of ART and other 1/6 scale manufacturers cannot but follow suit or be left behind. These include companies like Dragon In Dreams (DID), Soldier Story, Playhouse, Toys City, Brother Production and some others. Good times for 1/6 collectors. Viva 1:6

woah, that's kinda kool, Randy's Donuts seem like a landmark there - imagine sitting where Robert Downey Jr sat with Samuel L Jackson i.e. Iron Man & Nick Fury CHEERS
