What? No Bounty Hunter in the latest Star Wars The Force Awakens?
This was from my August 2015 haul which was posted on my toy blog HERE
Boba Fett is a fictional character in Star Wars. A recurring antagonist in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi as a bounty hunter hired by Darth Vader. Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones establishes his origin as an unaltered clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett raised as his son. His aura of danger and mystery have created a cult following for the character.
Square Enix has released Play Arts Kai Variant figures based on characters from the DC and Marvel universe in the past and has now included characters from the Star Wars universe as well. There's the reimagined Play Arts Kai Star Wars Variant Darth Vader figure (previewed HERE) and the Stormtrooper as well (pictures HERE) but I find myself only drawn to this Square Enix Play Arts Kai Star Wars Variant 1:7 scale Boba Fett 10-inch Action Figure.
Pictured above is a close-up shot taken of the Square Enix Play Arts Kai Star Wars Variant 1:7 scale Boba Fett 10-inch Action Figure shooting flames out of his gauntlet with the flamethrower effect included with this figure. I liked how the designers at Square Enix re-designed Boba Fett's outfit and armor while still retaining the characteristics / essentials that make him still recognisable as the famed Bounty Hunter Boba Fett from a galaxy far far away.

Box packaging is standard for all Square Enix Play Arts Kai products, consisting of a simple box with pictures of the figure on the front and back cover. The box cover has a flap that opens to reveal the figure in its tray which can be seen through a window style packaging.
Square Enix Play Arts Kai Star Wars Variant 1:7 scale Boba Fett action figure comes with: Main figure, Heavy blaster, Blaster pistol, Knife x 2, flamethrower effect, Jet propulsion effect x 2, Optional hand parts x 4 and Play Arts Kai action figure base (not shown in picture as it's packed separately. You can see the base pictures posted earlier HERE, along with my Square Enix Play Arts Kai Arkham Origins Batman 10.5-inch action figure review).

Scroll down to see close-up pictures of Square Enix Play Arts Kai Star Wars Variant 1:7 scale Boba Fett 10-inch Action Figure. Check out the nice and cool details of his armor and how it differs from the original version. NOTE: The external targeting rangefinder on his helmet is fixed in the upright position and cannot be moved. The projectile (missile) on his jetpack is also non-removable.
This re-imagined and re-designed Square Enix Play Arts Kai Star Wars Variant 1:7 scale Boba Fett 10-inch Action Figure does not carry his blaster pistol in a holster on his left leg but is stored instead on his back in a horizontal position. His pouches are not made of fabric / cloth but appears to be metallic instead.
Square Enix Play Arts Kai Star Wars Variant 1:7 scale Boba Fett 10-inch Action Figure's blaster pistol looks very similar to the one seen in the films. His heavy blaster, however, looks more high tech compared to the original's. More on that in the NEXT post.
The cape on Square Enix Play Arts Kai Star Wars Variant 1:7 scale Boba Fett 10-inch Action Figure is well sculpted to resemble a flowing cloth. It's nice that it's wavy and not straight as it allows for more dynamic poses.
