Harley-Davidson FLH1200 Police Motorcycle

Seeing the CHP officer without his bike really irked me. Every rider deserves his bike and since there were no 1/6 Harley-Davidson Police toy bike then, I decided to do the unthinkable - I bought the Tamiya 1/6 Harley-Davidson FLH1200 Police Motorcycle and proceeded to try my hand at piecing it together, motivated by my desire to see the CHP riding his police bike. Not much of a modeller but at least I could follow the instructions. The kit was very detailed and I had to put the engine and other parts together and in the end, some of the intricate parts get covered up after everything had been assembled. It was painstaking but the end result was worth it, I think!

This bike has survived one move already. Hope it can survive another - probably gotta hand carry, can't take chances with the movers.

bike looks really cool, do you remember how much it cost, Alex? did you have to paint it, or just snap fit it?

hey shaun, can't remember but wasn't cheap coz of the size and details but still affordable. It came as is i.e. chrome silver parts, matt silver parts, black and whites, real nice rubber details etc - no painting required but i suppose those hardcore modellers will still have a go at it. Not snap fit tho', still gotta apply the usual glue, stick-it-together and wait-for-it-to-dry routine.

There were no colors used on that bike. It´s out of the box. Searching for good pictures from an 1973-1978 Californian Harley police bike (black and white color scheme).
