Marmit Star Wars Sandtrooper Sergeant

What's better than an Imperial Sandtrooper? Marmit's Sandtrooper Sergeant!! Although almost identical to the Sandtrooper, the slight differences in accessories make him unique and a nice complement to the Sandtrooper. Was hoping Takara would do that with their Kerberos Protect Gear Panzer Cops, not just release different headsculpts.

The Sandtroopers only appeared briefly in Episode IV: A New Hope and seeing them in the desert of Tatooine with all that armour alongside the dewback was a sight to behold. That's the beauty of George Lucas' Star Wars. The world of Star Wars (when it first came out in 1977), unlike many science-fiction and fantasy films that featured sleek and futuristic settings (Star Trek), was portrayed as dirty and grimy. George Lucas' vision of a "used universe" sat well with many people and has led to countless movies adopting the same dirty look e.g. all Alien movies, Blade Runner, Fifth Element, the list goes on.

Sandtroopers wore coloured pauldrons as a designation of rank. A sandtrooper sergeant's pauldron was white, while an enlisted trooper's pauldron was all black. Squad leaders, who led units of seven troopers, wore orange shoulder pauldrons. Of course, they all have a portable air-conditioner on their back to keep them cool.

As with all Marmit's 1/6 scale 12-inch Star Wars figures, some assembly was required. Thankfully, clear instructions were provided even though it was in Japanese.

Fully assembled 1/6 scale 12-inch Marmit Star Wars Imperial Sandtrooper Sergeant - a work of art. Very nice addition to the Star Wars universe.

Besides the different color pauldron and weapon, the backpack for the Marmit Star Wars Imperial Sandtrooper Sergeant was also different from that of the Marmit Sandtrooper.

Hi friend, I've this Marmit sandtrooper but the colour of the armour had started to turn yellow. Why is this happening you know?

Hi Kok Heong, white plastic toys/figures are the hardest to maintain.I have an R2D2 phone that turned yellow on me while other white toys remained white. I'd kept one Marmit Stormtrooper in the box in the storeroom and displayed the other. Over time,I noticed that the one in the storeroom was turning yellow so I took it out and displayed him next to the other Marmit figure.Over time,it seemed to correct itself and is now white.yet i cannot explain why the R2D2 phone turned yellow because it had been left out in the open all this time. sorry can't be of much help

Thanks buddy for the response. Think I also take the Marmit figure out. Anyway, took a look at it last night and the yellowing is uniform for all the armor parts even the head and seems a bit like desert conditions. Maybe it is some checmical tricks done by Marmit. Now am targetting the sideshow sandtrooper squad leader.

ha! ha! you're right. Sandtroopers are meant to be dirty anyway. Great choice on the Squad leader.I plan on getting all three as Sideshow's Star Wars armored figures have been almost spot on so far CHEERS

The yellowing could be a side effect of the varnish/finish the companies use. Its seen in model kit building in various finished builds and the only way to solve it is let some UV light get at it. It will slowly regain its colour after awhile in the sunlight.

Maybes ayes maybes naws.
