VeryHot US Marine Force Recon VBSS (Sand Version) PREVIEW

This is the upcoming VeryHot: U.S. Marine Force Recon - VBSS operation training group (Sand Version) 1/6 scale uniform boxed set. Body and Head is NOT included.

Visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS) is the term for maritime boarding actions and tactics, designed to capture enemy vessels, to combat terrorism, piracy and smuggling, and to conduct customs, safety and other inspections, as employed by modern navies, marine and maritime services, military and police forces. [source: wiki]

USN (United States Navy) VBSS teams are generally armed with Mk 18 or M4 carbines as well as Mossberg 500 shotguns and Beretta M9 pistols. The body armor is generally of the kevlar, law enforcement type with ballistic plate inserts and a buoyant tactical vest that doubles as a life preserver.

United States Navy training begins with non-lethal-weapons (NLW) training and handling including withstanding OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) "pepper spray" and then moves on to Security Reaction Force-Basic (SRF-B), Security Reaction Force-Advanced (SRF-A), and VBSS.

The initial training continuum includes three courses lasting a total of eight weeks, with some team members receiving additional follow-on training. Skills taught in the VBSS Close Quarters Battle (CQB) courses include tactical movement and shooting, defensive tactics, rappelling, searching, and other team skills.

Some units, known as Helicopter Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (HVBSS) teams have been trained to fast rope aboard vessels from helicopters.

Regular sailors in the Navy are eligible to serve aboard VBSS teams depending on the ship's command structure. The majority of US Naval ships that deploy VBSS teams are smaller ships such as guided missile destroyers, guided missile frigates, etc. VBSS teams are used to combat illegal narcotics and arms trafficking and piracy.

The U.S. Coast Guard is another service that commonly responds to VBSS scenarios. Law enforcement boarding teams from cutters and stations are generally armed with SIG P229 pistols, Remington M870P shotguns, and M16 rifles. Additionally, the Coast Guard has a number of specialized units within its Deployable Operations Group that have advanced boarding capabilities.

Hi Alex. I'm Dyo a 1/6 army collector from Indonesia. And I have Veryhot VBSS green uniform. One thing made me confused is how can I put the earphone (don't know the real name XD) while the headsculpt of hot toys is too wide for this item.

And one thing, the Veryhot 1/6 scale weapons are very bad. I think you've realized it. :D

Hi Dyo the trick is to find a smaller head that can fit both the earphone and helmet ;p that's why i don't usually buy loose items / uniform sets like these because you have to find the right headsculpt for a perfect fit. Some of the heads may be too wide or too big so you need to search for a smaller head to fit.

Also Very Hot is not up there with their quality which is why their products are considerably cheaper. They are nice from far but when zoomed in, they become far from nice. Mostly good for upgrading and adding on to existing figures to boost the appeal although I have used some sets to bash a complete figure as well :)

Thanks for your advice Alex. And do you think what is the better one, the hot toys or soldier story? 'Cause I think both of them have good quality in gears and weapons.

Hot Toys don't do military figures anymore so that would mean that it is a old figure whereas Soldier Story is more current and hence their figure would be more updated in terms of gear and weapons. I would go with Soldier Story if I had to make the decision. Cheers
