Review Very Cool VCM-3002 1/6 scale TONY clothing set – Tony Stark without his armor suit

This is the Very Cool company's 1/6th scale Tony Clothing set (VCM-3002) which consists of Long Sleeve Tee, White A.I.M. T-Shirt, Black Hoodie, Blue Jeans and A Pair of Black Shoes. Note: Body, Head and shades (sunglasses) are NOT included.

Spoiler Alert! If you haven't see Iron Man 3, stop reading!!
In Iron Man 3 which was released earlier this year, the Mandarin orders the attack on Tony Stark's home after Tony had issued a challenge in a televised threat to the Mandarin's terrorist bombings. The Mandarin's forces manages to destroy Stark's home with helicopter gunships. Stark escapes in an Iron Man suit, which his artificial intelligence JARVIS pilots to rural Tennessee, following a flight plan from Stark's investigation into the Mandarin. Stark's experimental armor lacks sufficient power to return to California, and the world believes him dead.

This was pretty much what Tony Stark was wearing when he "disappeared". In order to protect his loved ones while he investigated the source of the terrorist bombings, Tony stayed hidden and because he did not have sufficient power to use his armor suit, Stark is left to his own devices. This is a rather nice outfit and was really reasonable (going for SGD48) and looks good for using for kitbashing as well. You get two T-shirts (one short sleeve and one long sleeve), a hoodie, jeans and shoes (these are boot-feet type). The same outfit by Simplz Toys, CS001 Mechanic clothes set is now on pre-order for SGD60. Scroll down to see all the pictures.

Closer view of the black hoodie

12-inch tall Tony Stark wearing the Very Cool VCM-3002 1/6 scale TONY clothing set consisting of Long Sleeve Tee, Blue Jeans and A Pair of Black Shoes.

The 1/6 scale Long Sleeve Tee is like a two-in-one i.e. short sleeve dark blue T-shirt worn over white long sleeve T-shirt. Why? Because it was cold / snowing where Tony Stark ended in. The blue triangle within a circle emblem in the centre of the dark blue T-shirt is supposed to represent the arc reactor embedded in Stark's chest. To see a 1/6 scale light-up arc reactor on a 12-inch Tony Stark body, check out my review HERE of the Customized 1/6 scale light up Mark VI Arc Reactor on Hot Toys TTM21 12" figure body

The jeans has nice stitching details and not tight fitting

The shoes are boot-feet which plug into the leg pegs.

This would be reclusive Tony Stark as seen in Iron Man 3, keeping a low profile in rural Tennessee as he investigates the remains of a local explosion bearing the hallmarks of a Mandarin attack.

Hoodies are the in-thing now at the movies. Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt in "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" also donned a hoodie to hide in plain sight and avoid detection. Check out my posts HERE and HERE of 1/6 scale Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt wearing a hoodie :) How about a throwback to the year 2000 with a kitbashed 1/6 scale Bruce Willis as David Dunn from "Unbreakable" which also starred Samuel L. Jackson? Check out my post HERE

So what's wrong with this hoodie? The hood is too small and it doesn't cover his head nicely :( I don't expect the huge hoods worn by the Jedi knights in Star Wars but at least have the hood go cover his head so that it does what it's supposed to do

Close-up shots / views of the black hoodie being worn. They should have made the hood portion bigger. NOTE: Shades, 1/6 scale Tony Stark head sculpt and 12-inch figure body does not come with this Very Cool VCM-3002 1/6 scale TONY clothing set
