Batman: The Movie, is a 1966 film based on the Batman television series, and the first full-length theatrical adaptation of the DC Comics character Batman. Released by 20th Century Fox, the film starred Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin. The film includes most members of the original TV cast, with the notable exception of Julie Newmar as Catwoman. (source: wiki)
Like the television series, the movie featured saturated colors, campy dialogue and special effects, and exaggeration in acting performances. Though it is often described (like many contemporary shows) as a parody of a popular comic-book character, some commentators believe that its comedy is not so tightly confined. Some commentators felt the film's depiction of the Caped Crusader "captured the feel of the contemporary comics perfectly". The film was made at a time when "the Batman of the Golden Age comics was already essentially neutered".
Sideshow Collectibles is proud to offer the 1966 Batman Model Kit from Moebius Models. From the hit Batman TV series of the 1960s comes the first kit of the caped crusader, as portrayed by Adam West, in his iconic batsuit and mask. This kit is full of BIFF and POW action and will be an outstanding addition to any collection!
The 1966 Batman Model Kit requires glue and paint for assembly and final finishing. Recommended for collectors and hobbyists 15 years of age or older.
Even though the 1966 Batman TV series and movie was campy, I LOVED it :) As a child growing up, any live-action comics superhero appearing on the small screen is a treat in itself, and having adults acting out the parts and trying to do it so convincingly was just an added bonus haha
By today's modern standards and with all that CGI and special effects floating around, that just won't cut it but back then, to see Batman LIVE in costume was just too cool!
The penchant for giving devices a "Bat-" prefix, and the dramatic use of stylized title cards during fight scenes, acknowledge some of the conventions that the character had accumulated in various media.
And the Batmobile was a character on its own merit. It was more like Batman and Robin AND the Batmobile. Check out pictures of the 1966 Batmobile by Hot Wheels HERE and a special gift of a well taken Batmobile picture HERE

@lex, I watched this Batman show when I was a child. I loved it, too, although I usually preferred Marvel heros over DC heros. Just LOVED Robin because he was the teen figure. Batman was the adult, but a quirky cool adult. Remember him doing that dance - that still amuses me. I liked both Julie Newmar AND Eartha Kitt as Catwoman. I wanted grow up tall and statuesque like Julie Newmar, but I felt proud and happy that Eartha Kitt played Catwoman too. It was such fun to watch. Thanks for stirring pleasant memories ;-D
You are most welcome D7ana :)
Hello, I am going to make this kit and am wondering which paints you used?
HI Liz, I didn't paint this. The pictures are taken from Sideshow Collectibles. Cheers
