Review 1: Devil Toys War of Order Vol. 1 - The Secret Master 1/6th scale collectible figure

From the droids of Star Wars to The Terminator’s cyborg soldiers, robots play a prominent role in our collective vision of future combat. When we imagine the future of warfare, we often envision a battlefield where humanoid robots and other machines fight alongside or in the place of human soldiers.

So far, autonomous robots have played a marginal role in warfare. Recently, however, the use of drones to counter the improvised explosive device (IED) threat in Iraq and carry out aerial bombing campaigns in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia has elevated military robots to a more prominent role in U.S. military operations. Drones can do the job of aerial combat and air-to-ground battles but we will always need someone (or something) on the ground to confirm the kill and make sure the job is done. That's where robots on the ground at the objective come in.

Devil Toys have based their recently released War of Order Vol. 1 - The Secret Master 1/6th scale Collectible Figure on the premise that robots will go to war in place of humans. WOO - War Of (new) Order is a sci-fi story based on mysticism. In the year 2047, at a time when the world is at the brink of World War III, countries around the world are utilizing mercenary and high-tech companies to participate in this full scale advance warfare. The Secret Master is their first release. Hopefully we'll see more of these robot warriors in the months to come.

This was from my haul in July - see my toy blog post HERE. The box art is nice and it's a very straight-forward shoebox design where you lift the cover to get at the goodies inside.

The Devil Toys War of Order: Vol 1 - The Secret Master 1/6 scale Limited Edition Collectible Figure is packed in the top tray along with an extra "head". This is a bonus part which is the 1/6th scale head of Secret Trooper. You can have many troopers but only one master but if they are all robot troopers controlled from afar, why do they need a master robot? Hmmmm.

The figure's weapons and accessories as well as additional hands are located in the bottom tray, all packed nicely with black foam for protection during shipping and for easy removal which can be put back into the box if needed.

Devil Toys War of Order Vol. 1 - The Secret Master 1/6th scale accessories include: Machine gun (assault rifle) with sling, four grenades, Survival knife with sheath, hand gun with removable magazine and two land mines.

Also included: bonus 1/6th scale head of Secret Trooper and four extra pieces of interchangeable robotic hands (excluding the two that comes with the figure)

Here's a close look at the bonus 1/6th scale head of Secret Trooper

Pictured below is the Secret Trooper head on the figure showing the robotic arms and black 12-inch body underneath. The 12-inch body is pretty much just a regular body with the lower arms switched with robotic arms and hands. The neck is also a robotic neck. The articulation is good and the joints are nice and tight which makes it great for posing and holding poses.

Devil Toys War of Order: Vol 1 - The Secret Master 1/6th scale Limited Edition collectible figure comes with an approximately 31 cm tall body that has over 35 points of articulation (normal human body) and is dressed in military garb (camouflaged, of course) from top to toe. He has a shoulder-fired micro missile, an assault vest with pouches and backpack for all his gear and equipment, a box with camera mounted in front, belt with pouches and drop-down holster for his gun and armor on his left shoulder and knees. He has black waterproof gaiters and boots. He also comes with a shemagh (or Keffiyeh) scarf.

Here's the Devil Toys War of Order: Vol 1 - The Secret Master 1/6th scale Limited Edition collectible figure with all his gear and equipment. I chose to remove the shemagh (or Keffiyeh) scarf so that you can see the robotic neck. The Shemagh is a length of material that is wrapped around the head, commonly worn by Arabic or middle eastern desert dwellers to protect from the sun and sand.

He has what looks like a United States of America flag patch on his left shoulder

He has another patch on his right shoulder. The words "Non Nobis" is Latin for "Not unto us". The motto of the Knights Templar is: "Non nobis Domine non nobis sed Nomini Tuo da gloriam" which means "Not unto us O Lord not unto us but to your Name give glory".

The Secret Master robot head also has the Latin "Non Nobis" followed by "The Providence Ltd"
