Review 1: THREEQ 1/6 scale CITIES RANGER 12" figure aka Stephen Amell as Green Arrow

This was part of my June 2016 haul (see the toy blog post HERE)

Arrow is an American television series developed by writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg. It is based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, a costumed crime-fighter created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp. It premiered in North America on The CW on October 10, 2012, with international broadcasting taking place in late 2012. The series follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, portrayed by Stephen Amell, who, five years after being stranded on a hostile island, returns home to fight crime and corruption as a secret vigilante whose weapon of choice is a bow and arrow.

Unlike in the comic books, Queen does not go by the alias "Green Arrow" until the fourth season. Stephen Amell portrays Oliver Queen / Green Arrow, a billionaire playboy turned hooded vigilante-hero formerly known as the "Hood", "Vigilante", and simply "Arrow".

This is the recently released THREEQ TQ1001 1/6th scale CITIES RANGER 12-inch action figure and he certainly looks a lot like Stephen Amell as the Arrow. In the second half of season two, Oliver replaces his "paint" mask with a domino mask, similar to one worn by the character in the comics. Oliver receives the mask from Barry Allen (who later becomes The Flash), who is able to create a mask that will help conceal his identity, while still being functional and allowing Oliver to see clearly. The realistic approach to the series included the costume design. According to Amell, it was important for the suit to be functional, and the best way that he knew for that was if he could put the costume on by himself: "If I can put it on by myself, I think that people will buy it. And that was our idea. That’s our world."

The box is shorter than most for holding 12-inch figures and that's because ThreeQ decided to ship the figure without his boots on. I still cannot understand why they would do something like that as it makes no sense whatsoever.

The boots and some of the 1/6th scale accessories (extra gloved hands and figure display stand) are packed in a foam tray below the figure tray. The boots are actually "beet" i.e. there are no feet in them, just one solid piece which connects to the pegs at the end of his legs.

The bow and arrows (with quiver) are packed in a third tray. There's also the gauntlet which he wears on his lower arm. It holds three small arrows.

Here's the THREEQ TQ1001 1/6th scale CITIES RANGER 12-inch action figure. He comes with realistic head sculpt, removable mask, 12-inch male figure body with over 28 points of articulations, green T-shirt, leather-like jacket with hood, leather-like pants, boots, bow, quiver (arrow x 5), leather-like bag for shorter arrows x 5, gauntlet for mini-arrows x 3, interchangeable gloved hands x 6

Close-up pictures of the ThreeQ CITIES RANGER 1/6th scale head sculpt which does bear a strong resemblance to Stephen Amell who portrays Oliver Queen / Green Arrow. The likeness is quite spot-on and I'm quite pleased with that :)

Check out the turnaround views of a fully kitted out Green Arrow, all thanks to ThreeQ's 1/6th scale CITIES RANGER boxed figure set. He really looks like the character from the TV series. Still not sure what he does with the smaller arrows he carries in a pouch on his right hip / thigh as well as the tiny ones on his left lower arm. He carries them with him but he cannot shoot them with his bow because they are too small.
