Happy Halloween from Jack the Pumpkin King

Happy Halloween!

This was one of the JUN Planning collection's Nightmare Before Christmas 16-inch (40 cm) tall figures that were released a number of years ago exclusively in Japan. This Jack Skellington Pumpkin King figure came in a orange coffin box and was released on 31.10.1998 i.e. October 31, 1998. It had a limited edition of 2,400 pieces.

Jack Skellington is the lead character in the 1993 Disney film Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas". Jack is the "Pumpkin King" of Halloween and lives in a fictional world based solely on the holiday called Halloween Town.

The film commences with the grand finale of Halloween Town's Halloween celebrations, which are hailed by Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town.

His usual appearance is a skeleton dressed in a black pin-striped suit and a bow tie resembling a bat, but there are some points in which he dresses as a scarecrow with a pumpkin for a head. His name is a pun on skeleton.

Walt Disney Pictures had decided to release the film "The Nightmare Before Christmas" under their Touchstone Pictures banner because they thought Nightmare would be "too dark and scary for kids".

The Nightmare Before Christmas film has since been viewed with critical and financial success. Disney has reissued the film annually under their Disney Digital 3-D format since 2006.

The character of Jack Skellington has become a popular design on bags, hats, clothing, umbrellas, belt buckles, pet collars and other items.
