Chris Costa spent 7 years in the private sector at Applied Marine Technologies Inc. and Linxx on assignment with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Risk Management Division (RMD). At AMTI and Linxx, Costa specialized in teaching Police Tactical Operations in CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear or High Explosive) environments and providing Red Team Vulnerability Assessments on critical infrastructures for the US Government.
Prior to this, Mr. Costa spent 12 years with the United States Coast Guard, conducting counter drug operations and special missions in Europe, the Middle East, and South America with such units as; the International Training Division (ITD), Maritime Law Enforcement Academy, Plankowner of Port Security Unit 302 and the Taclet Law Enforcement Team North.
If you google "Chris Costa", you will see a lot of images of Mr Costa in a very unique shooting stance with weapon in hand. His right hand is on the pistol grip but his left hand is grasping the rifle hand guard in a most unique fashion. Mr Chris Costa is a major celebrity in the gun world / fraternity and his shooting skills are among the very best, and he has the ability to teach those skills to a large variety of people. Students in his class range from high-speed elite law enforcement and military units, to the average guy who just wants to hone his shooting skills in order to protect his loved ones.
Chris Costa, owner and chief instructor of Costa Ludus, a weapons and tactics training school, previously spent the last 4 years as the President of Magpul Dynamics and 7 years at Applied Marine Technologies Inc., teaching Police Tactical Assault Operations for both Maritime and Critical Infrastructure take-back.
Now Caltek has revealed images and preview pictures of their soon-to-be-released 1/6 scale Chris Costa “Trainer” 12-inch Action Figure. Quite a treat for military enthusiasts and gun world fans.
Usually a 1/6 scale manufacturer will try to put a famous person's face (most often an actor) on a 12-inch figure to push the product. Some people might like the product and buy it. Others might like only the figure / head sculpt and buy it loose so the company has a larger target base this way. In this manner, you won't get clones i.e. different action figure / soldier but same head like the old vintage G.I. Joes or Action Man where it's the same figure attired with different uniform sets.
I guess Dragon Models started changing things around in 1999 when they introduced their line of 12-inch military figures with different 1/6 scale head sculpts and even named them according to their nationalities, beginning with "Hans" (see my post HERE of DML WWII German NCO "Hans")
Since then, many 1/6 companies / manufacturers have followed suit and introduced different head sculpts with different figures.
Caltek is taking things further by actually producing a 12-inch figure based on an actual individual doing what he does best. Kudos to them.
I would definitely support them and buy this figure if the price is right :)

The quest for a perfectly-balanced and reliable 5.56 rifle led Chris Costa to LaRue Tactical for a custom “signature series” rifle to bear his name. Costa requested the best of both worlds; the popular and lightweight PredatAR chassis, combined with the accuracy and reliability of an OBR 5.56 barrel. LaRue brought these elements together and provided it with a 14.5” barrel that is pinned and welded with a SureFire Muzzle Brake. Check out the link to LaRue Tactical's site!
