The M79 grenade launcher is a single-shot, shoulder-fired, break-action grenade launcher which fires a 40x46mm grenade. Because of its distinctive report, it earned the nicknames of "Thumper", "Thump-Gun", "Bloop Tube" and "Blooper" among American soldiers; Australian units referred to it as the "Wombat Gun". The M79 can fire a wide variety of 40 mm rounds, including explosive, anti-personnel, smoke, buckshot, flechette, and illumination. While largely replaced by the M203, the M79 has remained in service in many units worldwide in niche roles. [source: wiki]
This is the 1/6 scale M79 grenade launcher released by COO Model and it is rather detailed. The Set includes M79 Grenade Launcher with Sling, M79 Grenade Rounds (x10) and the Grenade Bandoleer
The descriptions on the box packaging reads "Can be decomposed" XD LOL I think perhaps they meant "can be dismantled" because the back of the box has a series of pictures showing the 1/6 scale M79 stripped and taken apart
This is what you see when you first open the box and remove the tray containing the COO Model 1/6 M79 Grenade Launcher with the ten 40 mm grenade rounds, bandoleer and weapon sling (in a mini zip-lock bag)
And here are the contents of the package (from left to right): sling with buckles, bandoleer with grenade rounds and break apart M79 "Thumper"
The sight assembly can be removed from the barrel group (apparently the fore-end assembly can also be removed but I didn't attempt it) and then there's the receiver group with the stock assembly (the pictures on the box packaging show that the receiver group can be separated from the stock assembly too).
Amd here's the fully assembled 1/6 scale M79 "Blooper" which was used extensively during the Vietnam War. It has a protected fixed front sight and a rear leaf sight that is adjustable for windage. Over 300 000 M79 Grenade Launchers were manufactured.
Another view of the COO Model 1/6 M79 Grenade Launcher, showing the barrel where the 40mm grenade round is loaded.
One of the interesting details the toy manufacturer included was the working rotating catch on the receiver group which can lock the barrel in place to prevent it from opening
The sling is quite challenging to put together and it doesn't look like it's the correct type of sling used for the weapon
Check out the next post for the reason I bought this weapon set :>

Kin.
@Colin: and super detailed too
yup, this M79 would look GREAT with the T-800 Arnie
check out my next post ;p http://toyhaven.blogspot.com/2010/10/16-t2-t-800-with-m79.html
thanks again Kin
I need to find one of these as I dislike the appearance of the shotgun.
p.s. the sight is adjustable for elevation not windage. Windage means you correct for wind by having side-to-side corrections
elevation means you slide the cross-piece up or down depending on if you want a flat trajectory or a long arching shot (for long distance)
Hi, Do you know where i can get this M79 accessory in Singapore?
