Zy Toys: Sniper-mamba Suit PREVIEW

A ghillie suit, yowie suit, or camo tent is a type of camouflage clothing designed to resemble heavy foliage. Typically, it is a net or cloth garment covered in loose strips of cloth or twine, sometimes made to look like leaves and twigs, and optionally augmented with scraps of foliage from the area.

Snipers and hunters may wear a ghillie suit to blend into their surroundings and conceal themselves from enemies or targets. The suit gives the wearer's outline a three-dimensional breakup, rather than a linear one. When manufactured correctly, the suit will move in the wind in the same way as surrounding foliage. This is the upcoming Zy Toys Sniper-mamba Suit product list which comprises:
MultiCam mamba suit, Black T-SHIRT, MultiCam Ben Nepal cap, MultiCam MOLLE Recon vest, MultiCam MLCS Double M4 Magazine Pouch MLCS (2), MultiCam MLCS Double Pistol Magazine Pouch MLCS, MultiCam TAD Gear OP1 Pouch, MultiCam 4X4 SUV GP Pouch, MultiCam H2O Hydration Carrier, MultiCam Pistol Magazine, OPS wrist watch protector, GPS MultiCam, MultiCam Gun bag

Important Note: This is only for the uniform set and does NOT include 12-inch figure, accessories, weapons and boots. Just the outfit and pouches. Good for kitbashing and adding on stuff but just a basic uniform set to start with.

MultiCam is a single camouflage pattern designed to help the wearer hide in varied environments, seasons, elevations, and light conditions. It is a 7-color, multi-environment camouflage pattern developed by Crye Associates. The pattern was on the race to replace the 3-color desert and Woodland patterns, but originally lost to the Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP) in 2004, seen in the Army Combat Uniform. However, it has been newly commissioned in 2010 and will be replacing the UCP pattern over time for use by US Army Units serving in Afghanistan, Under the Designation OCP or Operation Enduring Freedom Camouflage Pattern.

It is already used by some American Special Operations units and law enforcement agencies. The US Army has recently approved the use of MultiCam for the 173rd Airborne Brigade deployed to Afghanistan.

Ghillie suits can be constructed in several different ways. Some military services make them of rough burlap flaps or jute twine attached to a poncho. United States military ghillie suits are often built using either a battle dress uniform (BDU), or a pilot's flight suit or some other one-piece coverall as the base.

The jute is applied to the netting by tying groups of 5 to 10 strands of a color to the netting with simple knots, skipping sections to be filled in with other colors. The webbing is then seasoned by dragging it behind a vehicle, leaving it to soak in mud, or even applying manure to make it smell "earthy." Once on location, the ghillie suit is customized with twigs, leaves, and other elements of the local foliage as much as possible, although these local additions must be changed every few hours, due to wilting of green grasses or branches.

The Zy Toys Sniper Uniform Set (in MultiCam) is based on Tactical Concealment's famous Mamba Ghillie jacket, pants and boonie hat set. Also included is the MultiCam Sniper Rifle Drag Bag, Rhodesian Style Chest Rig with Pouches (also in MultiCam), H20 Hydration Carrier/Pack (in MultiCam), and MultiCam Wrist Covers for a GPS and Watch. Camouflage material is also included for customizing the ghillie suit to your liking.

Word on the ground is "The previous Zy Toys sniper set is pretty well made. Stitching is on par with the bigger companies." So that's good to hear.

I'd like to get one of these...but it's probably 85.00 a set huh? (U.S. dollars that is) thing that gets me is that even the "3rd party distributers over here in the U.S. charge like 75.00 on a set (their so called "wholesale" price. thats a bunch of garbage. These thigs are being made at about $2.00 a set maybe, not that I would ever expect anybody to sell for so cheap...but the U.S. Distributers offer the saddest "whole sale" pricing ever! these should sell in bulk at about 17.99 each and retail for maybe 35.99 - 44.99 at the highest....but nope 85.00 no figure included, aint that a *itch? LOL!

OUCH George, that's not a lefty, that's a HEFTY price for something so basic. I usually don't go for these uniform sets because after adding the figure and weapons and accessories and boots, the figure might even cost more than a boxed figure and that just doesn't make any sense :(
