Incoming Kumik 1/6 scale SALT, Taken 2, Se7en, Skyfall & Dexter 12" figures a big letdown

At first I thought "wow, so many interesting movie characters in 1/6 scale being made available". Then I saw the pictures and felt rather disappointed. I was hoping for more companies to put up equally stunning head sculpts to show Hot Toys that others can do it too and they shouldn't be charging such high prices for their products but apparently, not in this case.

These are preview pictures of Kumik's 1/6 scale SALT, Taken 2, Se7en, Skyfall & Dexter 12-inch figures and at first glance, they don't really look very good at all. Frankly I've never seen a 1/6 scale Angelina Jolie female figure look this bad before.

Salt is a 2010 American action thriller spy film directed by Phillip Noyce, written by Kurt Wimmer, and starring Angelina Jolie, Liev Schreiber, Daniel Olbrychski, August Diehl and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Jolie plays Evelyn Salt who is accused of being a Russian sleeper agent and goes on the run to try to clear her name. This to me is a failed attempt by Kumik to release a 1/6 scale Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt 12-inch female action figure :( Scroll down to see the others

Has any company really done a great looking Angelina Jolie figure, other than those few individual ones done by some great customizers I've seen on the internet and in the forums? I'm still left wanting.

This looks like a great Tchéky Karyo head sculpt and a rather good likeness of the Turkish-born French actor (I remember him from "Kiss of the Dragon") but unfortunately it's supposed to be Liam Neeson who played Bryan Mills as seen in Taken 2. They could pass it off as Tchéky Karyo and people might bite ;p

Seven (sometimes stylized as Se7en) is a 1995 American thriller film, with horror and neo-noir elements, written by Andrew Kevin Walker, and directed by David Fincher. It stars Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, with Gwyneth Paltrow, R. Lee Ermey, and Kevin Spacey in supporting roles. Brad Pitt starred as Detective David Mills, who together with the soon-to-retire William Somerset (Freeman) are homicide detectives who become deeply involved in the case of a sadistic serial killer whose meticulously planned murders correspond to the seven deadly sins: gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, pride, lust, and envy.

Skyfall is the twenty-third James Bond film produced by Eon Productions. It features Daniel Craig's third performance as James Bond, and Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva, the film's antagonist. The film was directed by Sam Mendes and is the first Bond film to cross the $1 billion mark worldwide. It is thus far the 13th highest grossing film of all time and has become the highest-grossing film in the UK, the highest-grossing film in the Bond series, the highest-grossing film worldwide for Sony Pictures, and the third highest-grossing film of 2012. Looks like Daniel Craig is going to get a pay rise ;p but this is a poor sculpt of the man they call Bond. Brother Production will also be releasing a 1/6 scale Sky Fall MI6 Agent "Bone" 12-inch Figure soon - check out the preview pictures HERE

Dexter is an American television drama series which debuted on Showtime on October 1, 2006. The series centers on Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a blood spatter pattern analyst for the fictional Miami Metro Police Department (based on the real life Miami-Dade Police Department) who also leads a secret life as a serial killer. Set in Miami, the show's first season was largely based on the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter, the first of the Dexter series novels by Jeff Lindsay. It was adapted for television by screenwriter James Manos, Jr., who wrote the first episode. Subsequent seasons have evolved independently of Lindsay's works. It is now in its seventh season and executive producer Sara Colleton confirmed that Season 8 will be the show's last season. This 1/6 scale Dexter (Michael C Hall) appears to have a rather long neck. It's supposed to be Dexter, not Geoffrey the giraffe mascot of Toys R Us ;p

This just goes to show not everybody can make it in the 1/6 world. Amid the growing number of companies and manufacturers vying for the collector's pocket, these head sculpts are just not good enough to compete with the other industry players.

I agree we've seen better Angelina Jolie headsculpts - like this current ponytailed one from Phicen that's making the rounds of eBay.

One almost wishes Hot Toys would make an official Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft, Tomb Raider figure, but that's a pipe dream.

But I'll still probably get this one - if only because I really dig AngieJo.

Wow a few years ago (4-5) everyone of these sculpts would been exceptional. Today the average collector wouldn't look twice at these. I Love a great sculpt... and although Kumik have some great pieces Enterbay and Hot Toys are putting out things nothing short of Superb.

Totally agree with your comments on the quality of Kumik.

Always read the fine print when dealing with Kumik products.

Expensive price but run-of-the-mill quality.

Belongs to Walmart or Target discounted shelves.
