Review 1: ThreeA Adventure Kartel 1/6 scale Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez 12.5-inch figure

This was part of my haul for July 2014 (see my post HERE)

The Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez is a new addition to the Adventure Kartel Universe and he is famous for decapitating people back in the USSR before he became an astronaut. Based of the Dead Astronaut Gangsta figure, Golovorez comes in a new space suit and an interior helmet light to cast an eery glow on the figure's face.

Dead Astronaut Gangsta is a classic Ashley Wood character who has found his way into the Adventure Kartel Universe. He was originally seen in early comics and paintings, but has also been seen in Miss and Mrs and featured on recent promotional printed material and the SD13 Dead Astronaut Gangsta t-shirt. In the Dead Astronaut Gangsta mini-comic, it is revealed that Little Shadow has hired Dead Astronaut Gangsta to assassinate Tommy Mission for their anniversary.

I don't really follow the Adventure Kartel Universe by Ashley Wood but the preview pictures for this ThreeA 1/6 scale Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez 12.5-inch figure caught my eye and got my attention. One of the first 12-inch figures I ever collected was the Mercury Astronaut (see my post HERE and HERE) and that started me on a journey of collecting 1/6 scale astronauts (check out my toy blog entry HERE) and pilots, including the super awesome and super rare BBI Elite Force USAF U-2 Pilot (pictures HERE).

The Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez figure is 1/6th scale and stands approximately 32 cm (12.5″) in height, when fully suited up. Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez features an Illuminated LED Helmet with tinted, slide down front visor. Comes with a two-tone communications head cap (aka ‘snoopy cap’) that is worn underneath the main helmet. Outer space suit and space helmet are removable. Figure wears a zip-up under-suit beneath the main space suit.

Also features 3 hoses that connect to the front control panel, backpack and oxygen tank. It was stated earlier in the previews and pre-order information that 2 Pistols and corresponding holsters are included with each figure. Actually there are a total of 4 pistols and 4 holsters for the guns included with this figure.

I wanted to see what the zip-up under-suit looked like under all the layers of space suit and so I stripped everything off and I got this. Looks like something out of a "Scooby Doo" movie or cartoon because the dead astronaut looks very friendly (you can just see the smile on his boney skull face) in a non-spooky kind of way. Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez is wearing two-tone communications head cap (aka ‘snoopy cap’) and orange under-suit (weathered / dirtied of course, which ThreeA / ThreeZero figure isn't!)

The figure is rather articulated but you are going to loose all that once you put on the FAT suit followed by the outer space suit (see picture right at the bottom of this entry post). It's very hard to put the fully suited Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez in extreme poses. At least here you can see Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez posing like the Flash from DC Comics. He even has a similar colored suit.

Here are all the items from ThreeA Adventure Kartel 1/6 scale Dead Cosmonaut Golovorez stripped and laid out, including the FAT suit (in white) and outer space suit (orange). Lots of pouches are included (also one of threeA's signature move) and you actually get FOUR pistols and FOUR holsters. Click on the picture below for a bigger and better view.
