$400+...I don't even blink or roll my eyes or laugh at the price of Hot Toys figures anymore. They're like car accidents -- I just look and move on and that makes me sad.

Bill, you say it BEST! That's exactly how I felt but I just couldn't put it into words :) It's a car accident!

It annoys me that I think like this but their high prices take away the fun of collecting.

I think the last straw for me was charging $160 for a 15cm Rocket Raccoon figure. I still can't believe it and passed. I also notice Hot Toys figures aren't selling out as often and some are even discounted.

Bill, you are not alone in this. I've also lost interest in Hot Toys products because of their pricing. They make it so expensive that it's not value-for-money nor worth collecting anymore. I really just wait and see, then pick and choose only those I really cannot do without.

You are right to say that there are lots of Hot Toys products still available nowadays even after they are launched, so different from their earlier SOLD OUT days. I see many figures being offered with discounts on Sideshow Collectibles' site.

I'm glad there are other companies like DAM & ARTFIGURES that are still offering stuff that are good and affordable.

Licensing definitely factors into the high cost of hot toys; i'm not sure how many around here collect lego but there's a noticeable increase in price between lego's in house lines and their licensed stuff like star wars, marvel, etc.

Im just waiting for the bubble to burst. There has to be a ceiling with the pricing especially when people stop buying and they have to discount with major distributors. Is Thanos about $100+ overpriced yes, will I preorder, yes but only after I carefully shop around and wait for the best possible price and if it sells out it sells out which I doubt anytime soon.

And yes I agree, Rocket considering his size and construction even WITH licensing cost etc is DOUBLE what he should be..... DUH-BULL!!!
