Mighty Jaxx XXRAY Batman, XXRAY Wonder Woman & XXRAY Superman 4" vinyl art figures

These are the recently released Mighty Jaxx DC Justice League of America XXRAY Superman, XXRAY Wonder Woman and XXRAY Batman 4-inch tall dissected vinyl art figures designed in collaboration with Jason Freeny. Based in Singapore, XXRAY builds on your imagination and shows you what your favourite character looks like on the inside. Balancing good design and unique licenses, it is the company's promise to produce outstanding quality collectibles. The XXRAY team is spearheaded by popular artist Jason Freeny (well known for his dissection style) and the Mighty Jaxx team.

Jason Freeny's early success as an artist came with his creations of a series fictional anatomical character schematics and illustrations in 2007 but was most noted when he began creating anatomical toy sculptures shortly after. I am a fan of Jason Freeny's work and I was most pleased when I managed to get hold of a signed edition of Jason Freeny's Gummi Bear Anatomy Toy in 2015 (see the toy review posted on my toy blog HERE). That was followed by the 6-inch Dissected Gingerbread Man ABS Art Collectible by Jason Freeny and Mighty Jaxx - pictures posted HERE. I also managed to get the Jason Freeny 'Micro Anatomic' figures at STGCC2015, including the STGCC2015 exclusive which is the clear version (see my haul HERE).

The "Trinity" is a nickname collectively given to the top three most popular characters in the DC Universe, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. This name has also been used for several series' and storylines that focus on these three characters teaming up. It seems apt that XXRAY chose to release these three figures together as part of their new line. All three figures stand at 10 cm (4 inches) tall, and feature unique dissections. These collectibles are individually hand painted and assembled. You can get them from the stores listed on their website HERE

Batman is listed as Number 01. I'm quietly pleased with that as I am a huge Batman fan and much prefer him to Superman. All the costume designs appear to be from the "New 52", a 2011 DC Comics event marking the relaunch of its entire line with the publication of 52 new comic series, all beginning at #1. I grew up with the classic designs so all this takes some getting used to, especially since the film versions look different as well.

Superman is not even #2 but #3 on the list. So even though Superman is an alien immigrant named Kal-El from the planet Krypton, he has the same bone structure as us humans. In every way Superman looks human except exposure to the yellow sunlight of Earth would charge his cells into living solar batteries and gift him with incredible powers.

Last but certainly not least, there's Wonder Woman. She is a demigoddess and warrior princess of the Amazons (which are based on the Amazons of Greek mythology) and is known in her homeland as Princess Diana of Themyscira. Diana was given the Lasso of Truth, forged by Hephaestus himself.

These are all very nicely designed and produced. Get yours today from the retailers listed on XXRAY website HERE. The rest of the team from the Justice League of America including Aquaman, Cyborg, Green Lantern and The Flash will all be joining this trio soon. Exciting times indeed :)
