Wanted (2008)

"Wanted (2008)" is directed by Timur Bekmambetov and stars James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, Thomas Kretschmann and Terence Stamp. James McAvoy's character Gibson is recruited by Fox (Angelina Jolie) into The Fraternity, a thousand-year-old secret society of assassins whose leader is Sloan (Morgan Freeman).

It's nice that Hot Toys are releasing these figures of Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy (although for McAvoy, the head sculpt is quite off!) as US Secret Service Emergency Response Team (ERT) agents with new weapons, G36C and P90 - sweet!

I'm just glad that Hot Toys are producing stuff other than just military - one can only have so many SEALs and DEVGRU etc. I also like the pairing of Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy from WANTED. Hot Toys has a tendency to do that - there was John Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix from "Ladder 49", and Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher pairing (from "The Guardian") as well as British Royals Princes William and Harry.

hi michelle, that sounds mighty interesting :) who would've thought that Mr & Mrs Smith (GREAT movie) would become Mr & Mrs Brad Pitt. Lemme see if I've a spare Brad lying around ha! ha!

Where exactly is the associating of these figures with the movie "Wanted" coming from?

The female does have a passive resemblance to Angelina Jolie in the eye area, I'll admit, but maybe the reason the male's likeness to James McAvoy isn't as good is because...he's not supposed to be James McAvory?

hi anon, it was because Hot Toys had always released sets in pairs and they are usually movie-related. There were John Travolta and Joaquim Phoenix fire-fighters, Kevin Kostner and Ashton Kutcher SEALs, Prince William and Harry British soldiers among others.
