USAAF B-17 Bomber Captain "Skip"

This was Dragon's World War II USAAF B-17 Bomber Captain "Skip" released in 2001 with Crush cap and gold officer’s insignia, Olive Drab shirt (rank & branch on collars) with khaki tie, Aviator wings above left breast pocket, Fur-lined collar flying jacket, waist belt & buckle, web belt with 1911 .45 Colt pistol in holster & ammo pouch, trousers and sheepskin flying boots. Also included was Aviator’s kit bag with ankle boots, Bausch & Lomb sunglasses & wrist watch.

Back in those days Dragon pulled out all the stops when making 1/6 scale 12-inch models/figures and they were king. Now they've simply slipped into oblivion with Hot Toys taking over, although Hot Toys hasn't released any World War II figures since their Desert Fox Generalfeldmarschall Irwin Rommel and German Wehrmacht (Army) Officer (see my entry on "The Germans are coming!!"). DiD has stepped in to fill Dragon's shoes in the World War II area while Hot Toys concentrate on producing movie-related masterpieces.

The head sculpt reminded me of the american actor Gary Cole

Great presentation! I was wondering if anybody on this wonderful website knew where to find one of these figures. I really need some of its parts for my upcoming WWII G.I. Joe project, but can't find the product anywhere! Thanks!
