1:6 President Obama on July 4, Independence Day

In the United States, Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States. [source: wiki]

During the 2008 US presidential campaign following the New Hampshire Democratic Primary, then-Senator (now President) Barack Obama, used the similar English translation of the slogan of United Farm Workers (UFW) – "Sí, se puede" (Spanish for "Yes, it can be done") in his speech. "Yes we can" became a slogan popularized by Obama and very much associated with him.

A very buff and fit 1:6 scale Obama figure produced and released by Hot Toys most recently. This is their new 1/6th scale TrueType Body – TTM-15 African American Male (Advanced Version).

And this is how the 1:6 figure looks like devoid of clothes, which is how it is packed and shipped.

Notice the additional pieces on the thighs. These are added on to make the thighs look more muscular and are easily removable if you don't need them. The bigger upper arm area shows more developed biceps and triceps, visible results from all that workout in the gym with the weights :)

Packaging for the new Hot Toys TrueType Figure Advanced version, TTM 15 and TTM 16

And here's a closer look at the TTM 15 1:6 scale head sculpt

Barack Hussein Obama II is the 44th and current President of the United States. He is the first African American to hold the office.

Why Hot Toys chose to release the body with this head sculpt is beyond me as I don't think this HS is very versatile for other action or military figures. Can you imagine a Navy SEAL Obama, FCS Obama, WWII Obama or Gladiator Obama? Perhaps this is Hot Toys way of dishing DID as DID (Dragon In Dreams) did release a 12-inch Obama figure in 2009 but the head sculpt just wasn't good enough (in our colloquial terms "cannot make it").

Hot Toys is certainly showing everybody, 1:6 manufacturers and collectors alike, that they can make any head sculpt look GOOD!!

And here's 1:6 Obama in suit and tie, getting ready to celebrate America's Independence Day today

And here's 1:6 Obama seeing off the preceding president George W. Bush (George Walker Bush), the 43rd President of the United States, having served from 2001 to 2009.

BBI had released this Elite Force 1:6 scale President George W Bush figure some time back (see my post HERE), fully attired in naval aviator gear as he landed on USS Lincoln, on May 1, 2003 to deliver his speech.

You're using the toysoldier suit, my guru? Great review as always. Hope you stocked up on these bodies too. Priced higher than usual but these are quite solid bodies, weight and sculpt wise.

Hey Shaun, the suit is from toys city (www.ttlcn.com). I didn't plan ahead and only decided to get these at the last minute, picked up the suit from TFH at the same time as the bodies.

The body was too BIG for the suit, especially at the arms. I actually resorted to plonking the head with neck and hands onto a smaller built body type after dressing it in the suit.

Take Care Bro ;p

He looks like he could compete in an MMA/Pro Wrestling Match.

And now I have to see that.

Hi Matt, we all would like to see that :)
