Wild Work USAF PJ (Pararescue Jumper) Preview

Pararescuemen (AFSC 1T2X1), also called PJs (a nickname pronounced 'pee jays'), are United States Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) and Air Combat Command (ACC) operatives tasked with recovery and medical treatment of personnel in humanitarian and combat environments. They are the only members of the DoD (Department of Defense) specifically organized, trained and equipped to conduct personnel recovery operations in hostile or denied areas as a primary mission. And coming from Wild Work, this 1:6 scale 12-inch USAF Pararescue Jumper

Apparently PJs are issued with multi-cam BDUs nowadays, so this PJ must be from sometime back since he's wearing the ACU.

PLUS the head is either too big or the helmet is too small because it looks like a very bad fit for the head. It looks like the helmet is sitting on top of the radio headset and makes the whole head look terribly distorted. Everyone knows that you cannot go into battle with ill fitting gear because it will hamper your movement and it can be dangerous! The 1:6 Headsculpt looks a lot like Wesley Snipes but no one can outdo Hot Toys near perfect version when they released their Movie Masterpiece Series Wesley Snipes as Blade from "Blade II" action figure

That's a lot of gear put out but this set doesn't look as good as Wild Work's earlier Vietnam War offerings. Everything just looks rehash and done before. Good for parts and kitbashing if the price is right. Serious doubts about the helmet though.

Set includes: ACU "Frog" Shirt, ACU Pants, MICH Helmet, Black Ballcap, MBITR Style Radio with Peltor Style Headset, Rapelling Rig, Hiking Boots, Rapelling Gloves, Black Soft Body Armor, Kneepads, Black Nomex Gloves, M4 Rifle with Silencer, Black Riggers Belt, Black IFAK Leg Pouch, Drop Down Hardshell Pistol Holster, Colt .45 Pistols (x2), Patch Assortment, Wrist Map Pouch, EMT Shears, M4 Mags (x6), Light Sticks (x5), Sunglasses, Rhodesian Style Chest Rig, Smoke Grenades (x2), Plate Carrier with Cummerbund, Grenade Pouches (x2), GP Pouch, Double M4 Mag Pouch, SAW Pouches (x2), Double Pistol Mag Pouches (x2), PALS Pistol Holster, Triple M4 Mag Pouch AND Radio Pouch

Badly fit helmets or uniforms sometimes happened in figure manufacturers who used standard accessories from their earlier releases in their latest figurines of different body / head size to save development costs. Probably this helmet is not meant to accommodate the headset.

that's the problem with these manufacturers. they try to rehash but it comes out looking BAD and nobody's going to buy it in the end. that's a sheer waste of money and resources having already spent so much on the other parts.
