Dragon Models Limited releases first teaser pictures of 1/6 scale Brad Pitt figure from "Fury"

Fury is a 2014 American war film set during World War II written and directed by David Ayer. The film stars Brad Pitt as US Army SSG Don "Wardaddy" Collier, Shia LaBeouf as T/5 Boyd "Bible" Swan, Logan Lerman as PVT Norman "Machine" Ellison, Jon Bernthal as PFC Grady "Coon-Ass" Travis, Michael Peña as CPL Trini "Gordo" Garcia, Jason Isaacs as CPT "Old man" Waggoner, and Scott Eastwood as SGT Miles.

The film is set during the last month of the European Theater of war during World War II in April 1945. As the Allies make their final push into Nazi Germany, a battle-hardened U.S. Army Staff Sergeant in the 66th Armored Regiment, 2nd Armored Division named Don "Wardaddy" Collier (Brad Pitt) commands an M4A3E8 Sherman tank called Fury and its five-man, all-veteran crew, consisting of Boyd "Bible" Swan (Shia LaBeouf), gunner, Grady "Coon-Ass" Travis (Jon Bernthal), loader and Trini "Gordo" Garcia (Michael Peña), driver. After losing the assistant driver / bow gunner in battle, he gets a recently enlisted typist, Norman Ellison (Logan Lerman), as a replacement.

Dragon Models Limited has released first teaser pictures of their upcoming 1/6 Action Figure: Staff Sergeant "Dan Coulson", a U.S. Army Tank Commander from the 2nd Armored Division fighting in the European Theatre, April 1945. While it is not an official "Fury" Brad Pitt SSG Don "Wardaddy" Collier 12-inch figure, it certainly looks to be based on the actor from the movie.

As was reported in The Straits Times on October 22, 2014: "Brad Pitt's new movie, the World War II actioner FURY, is a pleasure to watch as it gets the vehicles, weapons and other military details right." As the film reviewer mentions: "The first casualty of war, they say, is the truth. Cliches such as soldiers pulling grenade pins out with their teeth and scenes with the bad guys (usually the Germans or Japanese) running pell-mell into American bullets are just unreal!"

Not so FURY as this war movie gets the vehicles, weapons and other military details right. From the slow, heavy thump-thump of the American .50-calibre machine gun to the mad buzzsaw of the faster-firing German MG44 machine gun, to the fizz-thwack of the Panzerfaust anti-tank rocket and the painfully slow turret rotation speed of the German Tiger tank, FURY is a feast not just for realism fiends, bit also for those who want to see an assortment of weapons. Tanks are shown "cooking up" after penetration by a shell - not exploding but burning slowly from the inside as fuel and ammunition ignite. In tank-versus-tank fight, it correctly shows that it would take more American Sherman tanks to kill one German Tiger tank, while suffering heavy losses on the American side.

Dragon Models may not be up there with DiD in terms of detailing but they still do put out decent figures at very affordable prices. I got the Dragon Models Limited (DML) 1/6 scale World War II US Army Ranger 2nd Battalion Private First Class "Cappy" 12-inch figure (Vin Diesel as Private First Class Adrian "Cappy" Caparzo in "Saving Private Ryan") and am quite pleased with it.
