DiD 1/6 SD in Plain clothes PREVIEW

DID 8th Anniversary Edition Figure will be an SD (Sicherheitsdienst) in plain clothes. The Sicherheitsdienst (SD or Security Service) was primarily the intelligence service of the SS and the Nazi Party in Nazi Germany. The organization was the first Nazi Party intelligence organization to be established and was often considered a "sister organization" with the Gestapo (contraction of Geheime Staatspolizei: "Secret State Police"), the official secret police of Nazi Germany.

DiD had already released a Sicherheitsdienst (SD) "T. Becker" figure wearing the all black SS uniform but now he comes dressed in street clothes. I didn't pay much attention to the first released figure (there's only so much one can digest of Germans) but this new soon-to-be-released figure certainly warrants my attention. The outfit seems time-less and has a lot of kit-bash potential here, from his outfit of shirt, vest, tie, jacket and pants plus overcoat/trenchcoat.

Set includes: DID Figure with Two Head sculpts, White Shirt, Tie, Black Suit Jacket, Black Suit Pants, Black Vest, Black Leather Lace Up Shoes, Black Fedora, Leather Trench Coat, PPk Pistol with Silencer and Holster, SD Cigarette Case with Cigarettes, SD ID Badge with Chain and Clip, Cigarette Lighter, Handcuffs with Keys, Pocket watch, SD Pins (2), Umbrella with Hidden Skull Dagger, Leather Briefcase, Black Gloves

The "T. Becker" head sculpt resembles Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell (played by Robert Knepper), a character from the American television series Prison Break.

The second (bonus) head sculpt looks a lot like Sebastian Koch, a German actor. He had starred in several WWII movies like Stauffenberg and Black Book. I also felt it also bore a striking resemblance to Canadian actor, Nathan C. Fillion, best known for his lead role as Captain Malcolm Reynolds in the television series Firefly and its film continuation Serenity, and his current lead role as Richard Castle on the ABC series Castle.

One of the most amazing accessory of this 1/6 set is the working 1/6 umbrella. You read me right - the 1/6 umbrella opens and closes. It even has a hidden dagger as a secret weapon. Comes with a skull head handle too. Now we need one of these for Professor Henry Jones Sr to stir up a flock of seagulls to fly into an on-coming Nazi fighter plane.

A lot of nice 1/6 accessories here, including handcuffs

1/6 cigarettes with cigarette holder

SD identification badge with chain

1/6 lighter for his cigarettes

and pistol with removable magazine, silencer and leather holster

Last but not least, the 1/6 briefcase to put everything inside

TTL Toys City had released a similar figure, calling it a World War II German Gestapo figure with head sculpt bearing Daniel Craig's likeness (pictures HERE) but the entire execution (sculpt and quality wise) falls way behind what DiD is offering here.
