Fools Paradise Lowfool vs Lowfool: Inner Conflict 27-inch figure limited to 398 pieces worldwide

This is Fools Paradise's Lowfool vs Lowfool: Inner Conflict vinyl figure. It is limited to 398 pieces worldwide and Lowfool sit down pose is 27cm in Height. Materials used: Vinyl, PVC. It is priced at SGD370 (about USD274). I cannot understand why the price for this is so high. It's nice and all but NOT worth SGD370 to me. It is not a licensed product and it's not even cast in stone. Unlike a Hot Toys figure or its equivalent where you get a highly detailed super realistic head sculpt with movie-accurate costume / outfit in an articulated body with nice accessories, this just sits there and do nothing. Just because it is limited in numbers intentionally, the manufacturer dares to ask for an exorbitant price, believing that limited supply will result in high demand. If the company is right, there will be about 400 people who will be willing to shell out quite an amount for this vinyl figure. All I have to say is: "I'm no fool for this Lowfool."

Oh, don't get me started about these very limited quantity vinyl figures. The designs & colors are always nice & cute, but the price is highway robbery because it's rare. What makes my blood boil is they made that rarity. Bunch of cheats.

I find this oddly cool & interesting

@tofanpw, I'm so with you on this. Why do they do this? It's a lousy way to make money. They make it rare by producing a very limited quantity and jack up the price because it's RARE. I hate that they have to resort to this type of cheap tricks. Sad part is, there are people gullible enough to go for it. SIGH!

@Howard, it's indeed cool and interesting but they don't have to charge an arm and a leg for it. Make it available for the masses. They can still make their money form the bulk of purchases.

@Alex Teo,
You are right. It is just a marketing tactic...
Some will STILL buy it though but I won't be one of them...
These days the word RARE can be a bit overrated.

Hi, I just discovered your blog today, and have only had a few minutes to look at it, but I love it already. I only have a few action figures, and I am just starting to get into them. I make miniatures, mostly 1/6th scale, but started with the Barbies I had as a child, and then continued to collect as an adult. I'll be back for more great information and to look at the photos of your collection. I love your home! I love the color, and the Mondrian sink! I can't wait to have the time to look at more posts. :) Ronda
