Review: Dragon Models Limited (DML) 1/6th Man Yeung 萬陽 (Nicholas Tse) 12-inch figure

The Viral Factor (逆戰) is a 2012 Hong Kong-Chinese action movie directed by Dante Lam. Jay Chou and Nicholas Tse star as two long-lost brothers, on opposites sides of the law, who reunite to stop a group of criminals from releasing a deadly strain of smallpox.

Dragon Models Limited (DML) has released two 12-inch figures (one of Jay Chou as Jon Man / Wan Fei 萬飛 and this one of Nicholas Tse as Man Yeung 萬陽) in a movie tie-up during the release of the film in Hong Kong. I've already reviewed the Dragon Models (DML) 1/6th scale Jay Chou as Wan Fei (萬飛) 12-inch action figure HERE and HERE so now it's time to take a look at the DML Nicholas Tse as Man Yeung (萬陽) 12-inch figure.

Nicholas Tse (aka Tse Ting-fung, Chinese: 謝霆鋒, born 29 August 1980) is a Hong Kong singer and songwriter, musician, Young Entrepreneurs and actor. He originally learned martial arts for the screen and television, which he continues to practice. Nicholas Tse's most notable action films are Dragon Tiger Gate, Gen-X Cops, Young and Dangerous: The Prequel, and Invisible Target. He also collaborated with Jackie Chan in New Police Story.

In "The Viral Factor", Nicholas Tse as Man Yeung (萬陽) is the long lost brother of Jay Chou as Man Jon (萬飛) and also a wanted felon and a part of an international plot to develop a biological weapon. Dragon Models Limited packaging with the satin cloth makes the box look more like a coffin and is also a total waste of resources as it is unnecessarily big for something that could have easily fitted into a box half the size.

Dragon Models Limited (DML) The Viral Factor 1/6th Man Yeung 萬陽 (Nicholas Tse) 12-inch figure has less accessories than Wan Fei (萬飛) 12-inch action figure but costs the same price. 1/6th Man Yeung 萬陽 (Nicholas Tse) 12-inch figure comes with a Benelli M3T Super 90 shotgun (with top folding stock), a shoulder sling black bag  and a 1/6th suit consisting of gray inner shirt with tie, bluish gray jacket and pants with belt and shoes. Plus a ID tag

Here's a close-up view of the 1/6th scale Benelli M3T Super 90 shotgun (with top folding stock) and the shoulder sling black bag

Scroll down to see the close-up pictures of the Dragon Models Limited (DML) 1/6th scale Nicholas Tse as Man Yeung 萬陽 head sculpt. Not many Asian head sculpts out there in the 1/6th world of action figure collecting so this head sculpt and the earlier one of Jay Chou as Man Jon (萬飛) – seen earlier HERE – are special :)

Dragon Models Limited (DML) 1/6th Nicholas Tse as Man Yeung 萬陽 12-inch figure's outfit seems pretty standard civilian attire (shirt, tie, jacket and pants) but it must have been rather hot wearing this suit while filming in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia where this scene was shot.

Always nice to have 1/6th scale figures in civilian attire :) I have too many 12-inch military-themed figures already haha Gotta mix it up with civvies and costumes, especially superhero costumes!

Man Yeung 萬陽 (Nicholas Tse) uses a Benelli M3T Super 90 shotgun (with top folding stock) during a shootout on the streets of Kuala Lumpur. Dragon Models Limited (DML) has produced a rather nice looking 1/6th scale version of the Benelli M3T Super 90 shotgun (with top folding stock).

In a country like Singapore where it is illegal to own firearms, it's nice to be able to have 1/6th scale versions of all these cool weapons with all the ultra nice details for military hobbyists and 1/6th scale toy collectors alike. No need for the real thing, replicas will do just fine. Even miniature guns like these which are crafted with such fine details and have moving parts like the real deal as well.

Here are some final parting shots of both Dragon Models Limited (DML) The Viral Factor 1/6th Man Yeung 萬陽 (Nicholas Tse) and Wan Fei 萬飛 (Jay Chou) 12-inch figures standing side-by-side. What a fine pair they make ;p
